Fed a mouse to my spider! **VIDEO**

I've only fed her crickets up until today... figured I'd try a mouse. I'm a little surprised she took it, since it was almost as big as her.

Edit: It took her about 24 hours to eat the mouse, and all that was left was the head and a shriveled pile of skin & bones. Oh, and she's really fat now too. 😀

And for those of you would accuse me of mouse torture, you should know that I also verbally abused the mouse and that the spider's meal will be clubbed baby seal.
 
Wow. So basically the spider is injecting venom in the video, right? How does it eat the mouse, and how long does it take to eat the whole thing?
 
thats pretty cool. really sad, but if you consider how many siblings that mouse probably had, its not so bad.

I think she's injecting venom... the mouse goes limp after about 2 minutes. I think she eats the mouse by dissolving its insides with the venom and then consuming that. Not sure how long it'll take her to eat it... I'll get back to you later on that.

She has venom, which I assume is used to dissolve the mouse. She can't spit it, only inject it.
 
I totally thought this would be a syringer-based thread.

That's the kind of mouse we have. Her whole generation grew too big for the snakes that they were bred for and my little sister had a friend who offered it to her. They're pretty tight.
