Actually, I almost puked the first time we went down there for a joke. They can all live there lives the way they want, as long as they keep to themselves.

Right now we're thinking of these four places...

1. East Side Mario's (Front St.)
2. Casey's Bar & Grill (University and Front)
3. Mandarin (Yonge & Eglinton)
4. Scallywags (Yonge St. and St. Clair)

#1 is kind of a default choice, I've held birthday stuff there and know it's got the room and atmosphere. Good central location, prices not too bad.

#2 I've never been to, but will soon. Maybe I can drag eakers and GL along with myself and mellykins to check it out sometime soon? :)

#3 is the long shot, do we really want to do a buffet thing? Well, give some feedback as to that. Decent (IMO) food and decent prices, a bit more north in the city than I'd like.

#4 Ditto #2.

Any more suggestions?

Scallywags all the way! Great food, class, but not too classy, if ya know what I is sayin', yo.

My friend knows the owner, I can tell him that we are coming and we could see if we could get a group rate if I was given definitive numbers.

#1's cool. Went there for canada day one time.
#2,#4, never been there
#3's also, cool. But you gotta tell me if we're going there so I don't eat for 3 days before that ;) Gotta love their meat.

Also, what about a Jack Astors? I dunno if there's one downtown though. I love their garlic bread *drool*

That's cuz you're a girl. I was tricked into going there yesterday. A guy said "oh don't worry, there'll be plenty of hot chicks". False advertizing :| I jsut tried not to look at the TVs on my way out


And there weren't any hot chicks in the lesbian bar across the street. :(

Okay, in that case this Friday I'll try heading over there and see how it is in person.

This thread is mainly to raise awareness that we're putting this together, a sticky thread in the final week or two would be nice though. But that's more than a month away yet. :) Any other Toronto restaurant recommendations? Depends on how Scallywags looks when I go there, that seems like the best bet right now.

That's the interesting thing about Toronto: The churches are on Queen St. and the Queens are on Church St.

Would love to come, but I'm skiing that day.

Yeah i'm from Toronto. Not planning on attending, but just thought i'd point out that Manadarin is the worst place to hold this kind of thing. First, it has the worst party atmosphere. It's more of a happy family atmosphere kinda thing, ugh. Second, the drinks are expensive. I think they charge $5 for 20ml of vodka/rum/etc there? I would have to sell my monitor just to get a buzz at that place :D On the plus side, the food's great and it's cheap as hell if you don't drink.

Toronto is 17 hours from my home. Probably won't happen for me. :( Probably going to Salt Lake City, UT instead.

You should set an alternate date. Us Americans have to pass through Buffalo in the dead of winter. If a storm comes through, no one in their right mind will drive through a buffalo dump 8ft of snow in 12 hours blizzard. Considering a flight for 2 is over $500 that's a lot for most AT'ers.
As for us... It's a 6 hour drive and I'd have to talk to my wife.

Winter is pretty much over (actually never really started) in these parts. Since Buffalo is south of us, if we see rain, than Buffalo will see rain. If we see above freezing temperatures, than they will also. It has been an extremely ODD winter here in Southern Ontario -- very mild temperatures and very little snow. We are talking about record breaking averages.

Therefore, I see your concern, but I do not think it is going to be a problem.

Only prob, is that I'm under legal drinking age :eek:
