Bravo NN! You did make me homesick for a good old TN 4th of July though

You lived in TN? What part?

lived in Knoxville my whole life. Moved away after graduating from UT but get back a couple times a year.

Awesome - I live in the Tri-Cities area, so not too far from KTown.

great story, you never disappoint.

ive been victim to the noise a few times in my life as well, lost sleep for no reason.

Are you going to have your firearm ready for future incidents?

It's always loaded, but I put the lock back on it the next day. I'm not 100% sure why I keep it locked. We don't have any kids, and we both know where the key is, so keeping it locked isn't keeping me any safer in case she goes off on a bender.

Putting a trigger lock on a gun is a serious handicap as you found out. What you need to do is get a biometric safe or a quick access safe to put the gun in.

Oh and your ranting about "rednecks" is pretty bad. I know more Mexicans and blacks that buy tons of fire works than rednecks.

Another great story.

I wonder though, couldn't an intruder lock the door once he/she was inside? Good thing you checked all those closets and made your jackets surrender!
We're not coming out the closet, so you can just go away.

You sure you're still in the closet after that post Jeff?:beer:

I'm seriously looking into getting a biometric safe as well, Ned. I currently have everything ready to go in an ammo box, but that's too much of a hassle.

I think the comment at the end was a good thing. You don't want your balls to atrophy from disuse.

Another highly entertaining tale from Ned. Thanks for the laughs.

The last time my wife heard The Noise I brought home some ear plugs for her to wear at night. It got very chilly in my house for a long time.

Hey, I want to defend my gender here! Not all of us hear The Noise and wake up our husbands in a panic. :|

Oh yes you do.
You all do it. Ive had it done to me at least a thousand times by both my wife, and my 7 yr old daughter.
