Eating something disgusting I would not do, so I'd not participate myself (unless it was a guess that I'd not get an eating event, and I'd stop if I did).

But I do wonder why people drop out on other events out of fear. Fear for what? Death? It is not like they can handle that kind of bad publicity, so they will not dare endanger their participants. If you are going to swim among sharks they'll make sure the sharks aren't going to eat you on live television. If you are going to do something 60 feet above the ground you'll be connected to security ropes.

As I see it the only reason for dropping out would be failing an event, or not wanting to eat something.

Anyone here ever thought about participating?

Exactly my thoughts! 🙂

It's not like they are going to let anyone die or something. It's like the people who have to lay in the box of snakes or something. It's not like they are going ot use poisonous snakes.

Fear Factors would be much better without all the eating nasty stuff. I liked Dog Eat Dog, but alas it's gone.

I thought it was coming back this summer. I don't watch either.

The one person dropping out that I agree with was the vegetarian who wouldn't eat some animal bits they were feeding people. I respected that she didn't compromise her values for the opportunity for $$.

 
its not like they are offering 1 million dollars. there ar ejust some things people will not do for 50k🙂

i'll up the ante, would you sleep with a guy(assuming you are one too and not gay) for 50k? 🙂 garranteed desease free too!

Indeed, there was such a person on the Dutch version of the show too. The guy won the first round without effort, then they were presented with unhatched eggs. He had at the start of the show that he'd quit if presented with eating stuff like that, and indeed he got up and left. I respect that. That is not a matter of fear, but of principles, and therefor something which does not fit the show all that well.
