FEAR ending

omg...i just beat this game and i can't believe how cheap the ending is
it's a waste of time and money to play this game and i so looked forward to it when i played the demo
anyone agree with me here?
the ending's just pathetic!

I thought the game was great, but I do agree that the ending was a bit under developed. When it was over I was like ummmm- thats it?
 
I'm glad at least the game had gore in the story. Not like those cheap horror movies you see out today. Hollywood is too desensitized.
 
I think the game sucks.. it's the most overhyped game ever. And the graphics blow too. I was playing HL2 last night because I was disappointed in FEAR, now that is a great game.

Overhyped..definitely. I wouldn't say the game sucks though, it was pretty decent though not nearly as "scary" as people made it out to be. There are only a few scripted sequences where you are surprised by a ghost, the rest are pretty stupid. Then again I don't get scared as easily as some people so that may be why I thought the scare factor was way overhyped. The graphics were OK, textures were nothing special it's just that the game is a resource hog due to its heavy shadow use.
 
I thought the ending sucked. No mega monster to kill except for those pesky flying things that come out of nowhere.

Nvidia and ATI are grinning broadly because this game has pushed many a gamer to upgrade to mid-high end at least.
 
I kinda thought it was nice to not have an oh-so-forced boss battle for a change. But then, I thoroughly enjoyed fighting the squads.
 
I don't think HL2 is much better than FEAR. The music for FEAR was great, very driving. I felt FEAR's story was also more engaging than HL2's story. HL2 didn't really have an ending either and felt repetitive. Even though FEAR had the same guys over and over, the scenarios change aka the layout and how many guys there are. You gotta plan your attack and as you get better, the scenarios become more challenging. Like, the first time you see one of those armored guys smash through a metal door it's a big deal. But after you get better at the game, those armored guys don't seem all that bad. Of course, the ending could have been better. Same with HL2's ending. All the stuff about dark energy was very interesting but it suddenly ends, dare I say, at a cliffhanger. Let's just say, for FEAR's sake, there better be a sequel (HL2 on the other hand will have a sequel). I'm pretty sure if there is a sequel to FEAR, it will be flying off shelves.

EDIT:
Btw, in one of the trailers I've seen for FEAR, there was a scene where alma shreds two guards to pieces. It wasn't in the game though. Very dissappointing =( I was hoping since that scene never showed up that there would be a fourth locale to go to after the vault. Too bad T_T

WTF are u talking about the ending was a good answer to the game, it was stylish, and artistical, not one of those QUAKE 4, kill the boss and save the day and be the super-awesome hero type of typical ending. I agree it was a bit short but it was one of the better endings out of all the games I've played in recent years.

I think its the shooter of the year, i also think that water aside, HL2 graphics are terrible.

I dont get the "graphics suck" aspect of what people say. It has unsurpassed shadow and lighting quality, as well as the 1st real implementation of parralax mapping.

I think its funny that most of the people bitching are on midrange cards and lower.

The game looks beautiful at max settings.
 
i thought it was pretty good, the ending was good too i thought, that was pretty damn awesome,. sure no boss but that huge exlosion and alma!!
overall it ranked with hl2 in my book, fighting the squads was the best i thought, it made me go to extreme difficultly and start the game from there again!
its a unique experience, and i highly recommend it. i really enjoy the multiplayer as well, wish more people would play it.
