Fear Combat is out

i'm surprised more people aren't on the torrent.. i'm only getting 10k/s down and 200+ up😀 (mods, there is an official torrent provided by sierra, just so you guys know 🙂)
 
no key email either :-/ but 2.5% downloaded on torrent (anything else dont work or at least i aint paying fileplanet to download this)
 
i installed it and it won't run.. i get a render error, most likely due to the fact that it's not in 1280x1024 @ 60hz. anyone know where to fix that? i looked for a config file and couldnt find one >-<
 
Try searching for ur error on http://forums.vugames.com/forum.jspa?forumID=168 (fear tech support forum)
also i found out a way to change the resolution by doing this:

"I run FEAR in 1280x1024. If you would like to also, you can edit the settings config file located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Monolith Productions\FEAR

Look for a file named settings ; open this file with Notepad or Wordpad.

Now change the value beside "ScreenWidth" to "1280" and change the value beside "ScreenHeight" to "1024" .

Save it and FEAR will now run in 1280x1024 resolution."

I didn't play much but what little I did I wasn't totally impressed. I think it might be something I will play around with every now and then but as far as picking it over CS:S and maybe BF2 I don't see that happening.

Its worth its price I'd say which is free. Feel sorry for the ppl though that gave $40-$50 for it at release mainly for the multiplayer.
 
Can't seem to register for my free CD key. The after I submit the information on Step 2/3, it keeps getting back to Step 1/3. Is it me alone?
 
it did it to me too, i think they messed up on the third page, but just check your inbox for a email from webmasteratjoinfear.com with the key

Finally got my CD key after my third try using my college email. Guess they won't accept Hotmail or Yahoo Mail 🙁

Did you check your Bulk Mail/Spam folder? They might have dumped it there.

I used hotmail and got my key.

combat has all the latest patch fixes integrated into it.

if anyone is having video issues with FEAR right after installing, try restarting your computer first. I got errors after I installed the latest version of DX9 (I was limited to 1280x1024 only). After restarting, I could run any standard resolution.

Hop on a 16 player DM server... it's absolute mayhem!
