Thank you for the results everyone! I just need 3 more people to post their results... This turnout is way better than I expected. 🙂

Hmm, i've been getting alot of highend stuff, if someone with a lower end system could please post their results. I need some low/mid data too. Thanks jim for your results!

I had a few minutes so I went ahead and benched my system at 1280x1024 at the requested settings:

Min: 38

98% above 40

E6400 @ 3.2 on a DS3

I would call my system highend on the cpu and midrange on the video and RAM. I don't overclock my videocard... I prefer to overclock my cpu instead. 😉

Aha! That's one kind of result I needed. Also, the reasons my score were so low with my 7950GT in OP was because I accidentally had vSync forced. Had to redo and now the scores are:
40
72
170

Video Card settings: Maximum, Volumetric lights on, soft shadows on. 4xAA, 16xHQAF, 1680x1050 resolution.

Thank you thank you thank you all for posting! And gersson i'm glad you posted a high end Crossfire setup. That way I can get some different specifications in. Once again thanks for all the results! It was a big risk for amount of results that I needed to come on a website. But i'm sure glad all of you guys are around. This is good data to prove my point with.

Sure, i'll take some more! I was just saying I reached my minimum. So I don't need any more, but feel free to post more results, I will include them. Thanks!

What was your point if you don't mind sharing?

Something I've gained from these inputs is that a faster cpu and a midrange videocard are almost as capable, for a lot less money, than a fast cpu with a high-dollar 8800 card. I'm not seeing the 8800 as a good value right now at their current price levels.

That's because the tests are run at 1280x1024. Crank them up to 1920x1200 or higher, and you'll really start to see the 8800GTX systems shine...

@davidober, even at 1600x1200, a 8800GTS gives same performance in FEAR as the 1900xt/xtx give in 1280x1024. The thing is that the 1900xtx will struggle at 1600x1200 whereas a 8800GTS will be smooth and struggle only in 1920x1440. The 8800GTX won't struggle even there.

The difference between the 8800GTS and 1900xt is finally of 1 resolution, both will give same performance at same settings but 8800GTS will be playing at one resolution higher, 8800GTX will be even one more resolutions higher and yet may give slightly better performance even at that higher resolution.

@soydios, your results are very low. Even I get better scores. Put CAT AI to Standard and you will see a nice FPS boost. You should average somewhere around 75, or atleast 70+.

Yeah, but my monitor's top resolution is 1280x1024 so until I get a new monitor(which I'm hoping to get soon) it makes no sense for me to upgrade my videocard.

I just replaced the 7800GS in my rig with a Sapphire X1950 PRO 512mb so I have some new results

Min 27

I haven't yet sat down and fully tinkered with all the settings in the ATI Cats so they aren't exactly optimum yet.

Got a 97 on the project! Thanks for all of the results guys. Huge help. The 3 points off were for organization.... Oh, and if you're wondering how I figured out my grade on a weekend, I emailed it to my teacher. Anyways, everyone up to Cali3350's results were counted. Stumps, that's an appreciable increase in performance. 1950Pro is an excellent card from what I've seen in my friends AGP system.
