Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas -or- Blow?

My rating: Fear and Loathing sucks and sucks hard unless you're a druggie. I'm assuming blow will suck but I haven't seen it 😉

I heard Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas really sucked. I haven't heard anything about Blow, but it couldn't be as bad as the former.

"Fear and Loathing sucks and sucks hard unless you're a druggie"

I thought it rocked, best movie ever! Oh I mean it sucked. 😱

Blow looks good, I didn't really enjoy fear and loathing .. it was original and kinda fun at first but got lame towards the end.

Fear and Loathing was a horrible movie. Usual book to movie problem - it didn't live up to the book at all, and if you didn't read the book, the movie doesn't make any sense.

What the heck is the attraction to go see movies about drug dealers? That is disturbing. Disturbing that those with the talent to make a movie, made Blow, and those who have the talent to act in a movie accepted a role in a movie about drug dealing.

I don't get it. Didn't Nancy Reagans' message sink in?

Remember, "just say no"?

So much for the conservative approach. We sure have a short memory span, don't we?

Why on earth do we glorify the ugliness of our society? And people are going to pay hard earned money to see this crap.

Amazing.😕

Well Tripleshot,

Why the hell would you wanna go to the movies to see whatever it is you or I or any other law-abiding citizens do everyday? People go to the movies to be excited, scared, humored, disgusted, whatever they may fancy. Besides, Blow is (somewhat) based on a true story, so why not go for the history lesson.... (yea right)

Some awesome movies about drugs:

Scarface
Trainspotting
Goodfellas
Traffic
Midnight Express
Blue Velvet
Drugstore Cowboy
Naked Lunch

Some of life's most beautiful things come from the darkness.

I saw Blow Wednesday night, and it is a really good movie. I want to see it again. Depp was exceptional. Somewhat similar to Traffic but a bit more drug-heavy. Has bits of humor too. Don't miss it in theater.

I dont think the movies will be all that similar. FALILV was mostly an acid trip, documented, and i think this one is going to have a little more content, focus a little more on the lifestyle than anything else. Its not that I didnt like Fear and Loathing, it was pretty good, but I think this movie will have a little more substance. (No pun intended).

Tripleshot, I am sure this movie shows the glorious parts of the lifestyle, but I am also very sure it is going to show the downside, the "crash" which could be an important lesson to those who think this is a great lifestyle.

I've seen Fear and loathing a few times. I must say that if I hadn't read the book (quite a few times) I wouldn't have understood a bit of it.

I enjoy Hunter S. Thompson quite a bit. Most of his writings are very funny.

As for "Blow" I am going to try and see that as soon as I can. I've been a fan of Depp for quite a while and like the fact that he doesn't take the easy scripts.

Also Pee Wee is in it!!!!!

Fear and Loathing kicks some serious ass. It has that "Natural Born Killers" vibe to it. At least in the cinematography.

Blow looks pretty good too.
