UPDATE: GETDATABACK WORKED! 😀
Here's the story. I have 2 40GB hard drives in this layout:
HDD 1
________________
System (C: )
--------------------------
Documents (D: )
________________
HDD 2
________________
Media (E: )
________________
So C and D are partitioned, and E is by itself. I wanted to format, so I moved all my documents (D) and personal system files from (C) onto media (E). After I did that, I formatted D and then I went to DOS. Using Fdisk I deleted the C and D partitions and made a new partition of just C. That had 40GB. I formatted as NTFS and installed windows again. To my horror my new D: (my old E, with all the backup data) is completely blank. What happened?! And how can I get it back, that's 4 years of backup data....
Anything I can do or am I SOL? Maybe I didn't Fdisk right?
edit: there's NO way I can get it back? I didn't even format my old E: drive! 🙁!!!
