FDISK program to delete Linux Partition?

I'm looking for a program that can actually locate the Linux partition and delete it so i can reformat it to a FAT32. The Microsoft Boot Disk won't recognized the Linux partition so i can't delete it.

i visited freedos.org but it's useless because it required all these commands which i don't know where or how to approach of doing it. Is there a program that i can just download and go?

I've had this problem everytime i've moved from *nix back to MS. I just do a low level format, it's pretty quick and fixes the problem. I'm sre there are programs out there that can actually rewrite the partition tables, but i haven't looked too hard.

Kroze - how is it showing up in fdisk? Is that boot disk from a 98 install or an old DOS? Usually it would show up as an "unknown" partition or "non-DOS" partition and it should let you delete that.

You could always use fdisk or Disk Druid from a linux boot or install disk...just shut down after you're down repartitioning and go back to using your DOS or win bootdisks.

Have you tried using the option of "fdisk /mbr"

i think it deletes the main boot record on your HD, and then you can reinstall stuff like normal.

Then you go into fdisk like normal, and delete all "non dos partitions"

yeah, u would think the fdisk /mbr would work, but it doesn't. You have to either low level or use linux partitioning software, whichever is preferred/easiest to do.

I have done this numerous times, and everytime I just stick my win98 boot disk in there, run fdisk, and the linux partitions show up as UNKNOWN/NON-DOS... then I just delete them and create a new one...

hd_kill.com is hands down the best program/command to use for this, do a search on google you should be able to find it, then boot up with it on ur bootdisk, run it, and bye bye partitions ..
