FCC upset about Victoria's Secret show

I don't even know how the FCC can regulate broadcasts in the first place. Isn't that unconstitutional? But wanting to ban lingerie for the sake of "decency" is WAY over the line. People who don't like it should move to China or Soviet Russia, where they can have all the government control they want.

I think the theory is that broadcast spectrum is a public resource so the FCC was created to bring order to the chaos that was early radio broadcasting. I have no problem with that aspect of their mission since all it really does is assign frequencies and broadcast power and patterns so that broadcasters do not interfere with one another. As far as I am concerned that is where their authority should end but so far the courts have given them some limited power to regulate content during certain hours of the day. If you want to learn more you can do a search on George Carlin's famous 7 words among other things. The single biggest problem broadcasters have in the current climate is that the FCC has not set down hard and fast rules on what can and cannot be broadcast which leads to some very absurd decisions on the part of broadcasters standards and practices departments.

It's just how today's society likes it. I'm glad there are a lot of complaints, I think it's sad where society is today in the view of moral standards and sex in general.

I'm pretty sure that Lieberman is in the forefront of the push to regulate video games more strictly, and I think he had something to do with music CDs as well. Bah, laziness.... it would be so easy to google it.
