Ever since Google Fiber started coming here, our ISP prices have dropped like a rock and speed offerings have been going up. I got a discount recently where I started paying less for 300Mbps service than I was for 100Mbps service, and apparently, there's an even newer discount where I should be able to get 1Gbps service for that 300Mbps price.

But no, we don't need competition. 🙄

Competition would go a long way for health care too. Competition is the hallmark of Capitalism and it's why this country is great. As evident with ISPs.

Thankfully, I can choose between two different gigabit internet providers. Been toying with the idea of getting both, and load-balancing between them. Just for the LOLz, and 2Gbit/sec speedtest screenshots.

Unfortunately it's not like that for most of the country. There's just not true competition nation wide anymore

I don't really buy the whole rural development isn't profitable.

I am moving 20 miles out side of Dallas and I have the option of Att 1gigabit symmetrical or Suddenlink. 1Gigabit50Mbps. Basically when I move Ill be having ATT 1Gig and Suddenlink Cable(I prefer TiVo over uverses DVRs). Population is 19,000 but it's spread over a large area for that population size. Keep in mind this is a brand new development. My builder has closed 15 houses before mine next month. One of the other hasn't closed one and the last one has closed five. About 100 houses are under contract out of the ~150 in phase one.

I'm in Farmers Branch / Addison (635 and Alpha Rd) - best I can do is Spectrum 200 / 25 🙁
