I have a Abit Motherboard ( Abit VH6-II Via694X PIII/Celer. Skt370 ATX Motherboard) that will work with a P3 FC-PGA 1000MHz CPU. I have a P3 1000MHz but it's a FC-PGA2 Skt.370. Question is will the FC-PGA2 CPU work in a FC-PGA motherboard. I've emailed Abit and have not received a reply in over a week. Any information would be most appreciated.

Yes, an FC-PGA2 processor will work in an FC-PGA motherboard.

FC-PGA2 is defined as an FC-PGA processor with an Integrated Heat Spreader over the top. Tualatin pin-out is NOT part of the FC-PGA2 definition.

Thank you for the reply. Would it be ok to use my 200 W power supply for this system? I have a 24X cdrom, 8gig harddrive and floppy drive, 64 meg Geforce2 and soundblaster value card.

200 Watts is a tad small, but you should be fine on a system like that with minimal peripherals.

For what it's worth, you will get a HUGE boost in performance if you upgraded your hard drive.
