Aside from the Prima Facie evidence we also have the Res Ipsa Loquitur maxim. They are not the same and give the US a hard rock against which it sits in defense of the invasion.

I think the 'War Powers Act Resolution' Bush gave to Congress in Oct. '02, was crammed with some very creative language based on what Bush said was credible evidence. We now know it to be untrue. But Bush can argue that 'They' made a mistake or like that. It is obvious that he accepted what suited his purpose and tossed any hint of intel that pointed away from it... That bit of craft makes the mind spin. How could he have done what he did and be able to look us in the eye and say anything.

Edit: IF Obama said anything like that today I think all eyes would be focused on the evidence. Obama would not have 9/11 fears to ride on. Bush did and it is why he got away with it. (then)

If we actually go back to the original post, I would give the example of Al Capone being prosecuted for tax evasion. That obviously means he was 100% innocent and not-guilty of all other crimes he was accused of. Just like the chances of this guy today being guilty is 0%, because the left-wing blogs say so

How about looking at it this way...

Obama is the fireman using a back fire to try and put out what the arsonist started? When you use a back fire more good stuff gets destroyed but hopefully it keeps the fire from advancing out of control?

No, they do have some evidence that we know about (and have seen).

He purchased the 3 components necessary for a bomb etc.

So far, they've needed to produce only enough to get an indictmet - which they got.

After this to come to trial we may see more, particularly if the defense shares what they find out in the discovery phase.

As even many left types who've critisized the other 'busts' have said - this was guy in the operational phase (which is quite different than the other so-called plots) and this looks serious. The fact the FBI hasn't been able to find the bomb-making chemicals has been a concern of theirs from the outset (when this case was announced). So, it's waaay to early to denounce this plot as some kind of over-zealous FBI blunder where an innocent guy is slandered etc.
