Seriously? I didn't know it was humanely possible for someone to not see a problem with electric scooters. They continue to HURT our health problems/costs, yet somehow liberals deem this necessary?

They don't see a scam because it involves government. Government is always right. Fuck bringing logic and reasoning amirite?

9/10 people I see in an electric scooter in my daily life? Fat asses that NO REAL DOCTOR would EVER say that person should be in. NO REASONABLE DOCTOR would tell them they need to sit on their ass even when moving

Why is this a liberal problem? I take it that you have polled a good selection of scooter users to find out their political affiliations?

Not scooter users - rather the users in this thread defending the scooter store in any way shape or form :hmm:

Not really, you get one for an elderly relative and a couple years later they're dead. You usually can't bury them with it so it ends up in the estate sale.

Actually, through personal experience after my grandmother died, you can't even give the things away when you're done with them. The government will give everyone a free one, why would someone pay money for a second hand scooter when they can get a new one for free?

Once again, the market fails to self-regulate when government entitlements get involved.

Given there is nobody in the this thread defending the Scooter Store, we'll conclude you sampled imaginary people and imagined them to be liberals because you are incapable of anything more. You're a useless partisan that blames everything on "liberals", no matter how absurd it may be.

Indeed, given that the primary customer for these scooters are the elderly, and that the elderly demographic leans to the right, it is actually more likely that this abuse is coming more from conservatives ... and nobody but mindless hacks care. This is not a partisan issue, it's an issue of insurance fraud. Intelligent people on both the right and the left can agree fraud should be stopped and prosecuted.

Well, when it's mostly you - I guess it can be hard to see. But here's a few quickies that point to the defense side for the Skooter store. Please. Continue to eat your words.

People of low income have a higher incidence of obesity and obesity related diseases that render them incapable of moving around without these.

Perhaps instead of raiding the scooter store they should raid whole food and find out why their prices are so expensive and figure out a way to force them into bad neighborhoods so people of low income can eat healthy too and retain the use of their limbs.

So that's where my tax dollars went. If you can't walk unassisted, you should probably just stay at home and not roam around in traffic.

I was driving to work the other day and this old guy was speeding in the bike lane in his scooter... I'm like, you need to get back on the side walk before you get run over!

No kids, this is a symptom of insurance fraud. Not even in the most libertopian delusion does a "free market" prevent fraud.

Now that they're involved they feel entitled to raid and destroy the business. Bravo.

I know reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, but I don't absolve the government of any responsibility. I simply pointed out this was fundamentally a fraud problem. The government certainly should do a better job of screening such claims and going after fraudsters. But private insurance companies are defrauded too, and Uncle Sugar did (finally) go after The Scooter Store in a very big way.

The simple fact is that any time there is commerce there will be fraud, no matter how "free" the market is. Such is the nature of greedy, dishonest people. That is the point, no matter how much you need to mindlessly rage about "progressives" and ebil gubmint.
