If they were smart, the ideas they had would not have come about because they would realize the absurdity of it. Yes, some sociopath can take advantage of these minds, but we have that with tRump and the Republicons. Saying someone is a dumb criminal is an oxymoron. Maybe these folks should be sentenced to live in Syria, as they clearly do not like a democracy and this will allow them to see true radicalism in person. I think they would defalcate in their pants every day upon bring in around actual civil unrest.

I’m sure we’ll find out that some of them probably have visited such places already.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Either we are Americans who prioritize division as the enemy to America or there will soon be no America. We can only hope, in that instance, to have an outcome as favorable as it was during Lincoln's time.

Let me inquire upon those who may yet have an open mind: was the moral superiority of the Union at all relevant to prevailing in the civil war?

Looks like they were part of the armed occupants of the MI capitol last summer/spring.

Are you asking did the north win because they were fighting for what’s right or because they had an advantage that the south couldn’t overcome?

I’d say for many, having a cause you believe in makes you more focused and being more focused is an advantage in any battle. So the question then becomes, which side had more people that truly believed in their cause? To think slavery or succeeding over slavery is wrong, probably doesn’t require one to be a former slave holder or hold any position of power or wealth in society. However to think slavery is right one would think that to truly feel that way you’d have to be a slave holder yourself, otherwise you are fighting for someone else’s cause. Of course that wasn’t the thinking of the solders in the south but it could be some unconscious thought that caused doubt in their mind no matter how little it affected their beliefs. That doubt could have been enough to not willingly give up your life for the good fight.

Outside of the innocents that would've been impacted, I would've liked to have seen the fall out of this. Did they really think you could coup a state like you could a small country?

Anyone listen to the presser? Those asshats we’re trying to start a civil war.

More of this to come.
I did. One of the charges is that they built and tested IED's that were wrapped in shrapnel for added damage against personnel. That's some serious ISIS shit there. Of course they'll be the first to tell you how much they love this country and what proud Americans they are.

They were looking to recreate some of the white coups seen in the south during or post reconstruction

Yup. Nothing but terrorism here. All we're missing is a beheading at the end. There's not much daylight between these goons and the Jihadists the right tries to continue using as a boogeyman to every day American's.
Lucky these orange monkey followers are too stupid to pull off acts of terrorism

IANAL but I think the legal definition of treason only applies to foreign actors, so this may just be terrorism.

Honestly, that's what I meant to type. "Terrorism" , no "Treason"

IANAL ... but....

Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives”

Sounds pretty fucking cut and dry there....

I can only hope that what you say is true. History does not say that only the righteous prevail.

Do you think that Republicans feel a real existential threat to their own morality?
