Yup. Everyone in GB loved him and he (and especially his wife) was well connected and respected within the community. Now what will he do? Half the people in Wisconsin hate his guts. It should be interesting to see where he ends up settling down.

isn't this like a threetire for Brett?

If he does, its only the second time.

Give the guy some slack...this is all he knows.

Don't blame him for the ESPN/Sports News drama that surrounds him.

Favre stoked the fires last year by constantly talking to the media. He didn't have to bring the fight with the Pack to the media. He deserves the hate.

He ruined a good thing. Luckily, history will only remember the good things about him.

He was responsible for retiring the Jets early this year, so its only fitting at this point. ;)

No Favre, no pennington...Jets are screwed, lol.

I said it in the offseason last year...he should have stayed retired after 2007. He had a miracle comeback last year, the entire team overachieved, there is no way he could go out better than he did after 2007. The Packers made the correct decision in standing behind Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is the future of the franchise and was the better QB in 2008. Favre, meanwhile, ruined the Jets playoff chances and got a good coach fired. Sweet work on his part.

I heard on ESPN the Jets will most likely sign a veteran QB - Kurt Warner, Jeff Garcia, Kerry Collins...even Vince Young..

Dark horse: Michael Vick

Should have stayed retired a year ago. I'm sure when the Jets shit the bed late in the season he immediately regretted coming back.

Well, let's see. He tarnished his legacy, destroyed the Jets season, got his coach unfairly fired..

Job well done, Brett. Hope it was worth it.

Good riddance to the most overrated QB in the history of the game. Maybe Madden will retire now too, now that he doesn't have Favre around to slobber over.

The Mangina deserved to be fired - what shocks me is that he got another head coaching job so quickly...then again, it is Cleveland.

LOL. I won a bet!!!!

When he unretired before and went over to the Jets I bet my friend 1 year and he does the same thing to the Jets. All he now needs to do is unretire again. :p

how many of you think he deserves the hall of fame?

personally, he was my favorite player (along with walter payton) of all time. but i don't think he deserves the HOF. He was a bit overrated as a QB. Had he not had as many interceptions as he had, maybe he would deserve it, but not as the leading int guy of all time. also, with this whole retirement drama, and nastiness with GB, yea, he kinda ruined his image. imo he'll probably be first ballot, but still i don't know about HOF status.
