Favre to talk to Vikings coach Brad Childress later this week

Gah, no! Stay the fuck away from my Vikings, you unshaven, indecisive, pick-throwing motherfucker! :|

Sage Rosenfels wishes for you to further qualify that statement... 😛

I'm unsure as to why any team would give him a serious look at this point. He's good for maybe a few games, but he's still Brett Favre. He'll still throw a lot of picks and is in no shape to lead you deep in the playoffs, plus he'll retire once again at the end of the season for a yet-to-determined injury.

Favre over the past three seasons has been much better than Rosenfels or Jackson.

Favre over the past three seasons has been much better than Rosenfels or Jackson.

Last year he was abysmal, at least over the last half, and he will only be worse if he comes back again this year. I'd rather take my lumps with what we have, rather than take on the damned Brett Favre circus sideshow.

KT

In 2008 he was 343/522 65.7% 3472yds 22-22
In the last 8 games he was 163/259 62.9% 1660 7-10
In the last 8 games he had 48% of his completions, 50% of his attempts, was slightly less accurate, threw 45% of his INTs, and 32% of his TDs.

Looks to me like his INTs were down in the second half, and it's the lack of TDs that killed the Jets. I didn't watch the Jets, so I don't know: was lack of TD production a fault of Favre, Mangini, or both?

(disclaimer: life long Packer fan, one time Favre fan)

What a complete and utter idiot and douche bag. Reports are saying that his motivation is revenge on the Packers. Revenge? Grow up. He isn't going to want to partake in the minicamps (as he did not with the Jets). He has not trained AT ALL in the off season (OK if you're 24, not OK if you're 85 like Brett) He had a torn Bicep ligament at the end of last season, and he hasn't had surgery on it at all. He believes it will "heal on its own".

Sorry Vikings fans, even if you do get him, he's damaged goods beyond belief. Let him sign, let him put on that stupid purple, ring-less, jersey and watch him get crushed and boo'ed by every Packers fan there is. Oct 5th on Monday night in Minne and Nov 1st in GB. These dates are starred on my calendar and I have my #4 effigy all set and ready to burn.

(My feelings pretty much echo that of ANYONE I talk to iand any radio/TV voice n the great state of Wisconsin)

Wow.

As a guy who watches the Vikings (I wouldn't say "Fan", I don't own a jersey or read up on the team), I'd say snag him up and bench his ass. At this point he is a learning tool and not a player. Tarvaris could use such knowledge.

If they snag up farva I might just have to go to that game.

The only ones that don't want him back are the other teams in the division. This would instantly move the vikes from a laughable almost was to a true contender.

I wouldn't say not going to the minicamps were really his fault. Since he didn't join the Jets until August 7th, he would have needed a time machine to attend the minicamps which happened 4 months earlier.

True contender for what? NFC North title? They won that last year. If they were to win it again (with Favre), they aren't going any deeper into the playoffs than they did last year.

At this point, the whole vengeance factor is pure speculation and heresay. I have not seen an article quoting him saying that. If he did , well it's pretty sad, but I can understand given the way things went down at the end. unfortunately almost all star qb's who were pushed out before they felt it was their time have harbored some resentment against their teams, (looks at terry bradshaw for instance).

I'll say this, if he does go to minnesota, he would immediately put that team into the upper echelon provided AP doesn't get hurt, and they don't kill their rookie receiver.

So start him and then bench him. Isn't that how he got to a gillion consecutive games or whatever?
