I hope the Packers boo the hell out of him when he goes to play in their house. I'm so done with Favre.

All these people saying he's a better qb than the other 2 on the team seem to have forgotten last season. The problem with signing an old qb who still thinks he's got it is that he will still try to force the ball into triple coverage. 10 years ago he would have made a fantastic completion that awed everyone. Now? INT.

And it will only get worse as the season goes on.

Playing a mediocre qb who knows they're mediocre is a much better option than playing this asshole, who will single handedly lose several games for them and destroy their playoff ambitions. At least a mediocre but humble qb will take care of the ball and not take insane risks like Farve.

Jesus Christ. How many retards can we fit into this thread at once? You think you know all about Brett Favre and they end up talking out of their ass. You are the perfect example of that.

So....lets see what brett favre did last year, so you can finally be educated and stop talking out of your ass.

Jets record in 2007: 4 - 12
Jets record in 2008: 9 - 7

Favre Stats Prior to injury (First 11 games):
8 wins - 3 losses
2461 Passing yards
20 TDs
13 interceptions
2 lost fumbles

Post Injury (Last 5 games):
1 win - 4 losses
1011 Passing yards
2 TDs
8 interceptions
0 lost fumbles

So basically Farve improved the Jets by 5 wins and almost gave them playoff hopes until he got injured. Man, what a SHITTY QB! I wouldn't want that guy on my team! He made a team better and put them on the radar when they were a laughingstock the prior season. Jeez, that Favre guy is a joke!

I didnt forget last season. Did you? Apparently you dont look at the facts too closely.

Yes, Favre throws up some pretty bad passes. Yes, it probably is because he is a seasoned vet who thinks he still "has it". Are the 2 QB's that the Vikes have now better than Farve? Not even close. You are an idiot and should get laughed out of the room when you make a comment like that.

Since you dont know much about football, here are a few pointers. The vikings have this player on their team called Adrian Peterson. He is one of, if not the best current RB in the NFL. The vikings are a run-first team. They dont have to rely on the passing game. In fact, they made the playoffs last season without having much of a passing game at all. They wont have to rely on Brett Favre to "save the game".

Maybe one day you can improve your football related opinions. Until then, please stfu and let people who actually know about it do the talking.

And when he got injured his pride got in the way and he kept playing and played horrible, he should have shut himself down and let someone healthy play qb, god knows they couldn't have done any worse than him.

BULLLS$%^!!!!!!! He played because the Jets other QB's are even worst than what the Vikes now have on the bench.

And to you preslove, you are the one who seems to have forgotten the Vikes last season. They absolutely sucked a#$ with TJ at QB. It wasn't until Gus took over before they looked like a team making a playoff run. Sadly, his reward for saving the season was getting benched for the playoffs.

I've had my hatred for Favre like any Vikes fan, but I've gotten over it. With him, I honestly think we have a chance to make a run for the SB this year. The last time I felt like this, we picked up a guy named Randall. Yeah, he fell short of the SB, but if Farve can bring that kind of excitement to the Vikes again, I can live with that.

Apparently, I'm not the only fan to feel this way. Viking tickets are selling like crazy now.

as a lifelong Packer fan, I'm ok with this.

1. Favre gets to pad his stats against the likes of Brady and Manning
2. It makes Pack vs Vikes even MORE fun! :) I'm going to have a big partayy at my
houst for the first game! :)
3. At this stage, Rodgers is the better QB, and will light up the Vikes! :)

now that's a ridiculous exaggeration.

This retire / i'm back / retire / i'm back cycle is really silly.

however, i think a old ass Favre is still a better QB option than Jackson or Rosenfels.

I really think the vikings should have made a run for Tyler Thigpen...

BS . MIKE VICK was perfect fit to dawn Viking horns . They both liked Dogs for many of same reasons . savages. But Vick in MN Viking would have been News holiday.

Vikes are going to super bowl with or without Farve. $25,000,000 2 years for an old man .

as a vikings fan, i'm rather excited about the upcoming season. favre may be an indecisive little bitch, but he's a far superior QB than jackson or rosenfels.

I thought John Madden retired from broadcasting. I don't really care about Favre that much either way, but it should increase the interest in the 2 regular season games of the Vikings v. Packers so that's a plus.

That was awesome!

On another note: Minnesota with a primarily running game & a successful season last year now has a new threat. Favre will not make them a worse team - he's still an improvement to their team & adds more balance to their offense. And, in reference to the choice - Vick for 1.5 or Favre for 10 - Favre will have a huge positive influence on ticket sales. He took a shitty team & turned them into an 8-3 team. A lot of people are going to be wondering "what if" in Minnesota & buy their tickets early for the season.

Little support' for Favre

What two knowledgeable NFL people described earlier this week as an "issue" in the Minnesota Vikings locker room was described Wednesday by a third informed person as a "schism."

The issue is quarterback Brett Favre, and the schism is the preference that certain Vikings players have for specific quarterbacks.

Sources with knowledge of the Vikings locker-room dynamics say some players believe Tarvaris Jackson gives the Vikings the best chance to win, while other players believe Sage Rosenfels gives the team the best chance to win -- which is one of the new twists to this storyline. In the words of one NFL source, Favre has "little support" in the locker room as Minnesota prepares for its Monday night preseason game against the Houston Texans.

Favre, who signed only last week, struggled in his one preseason appearance but could easily win backers with improved performance and victories. But as it now stands, one NFL source said these locker-room issues stem back to long before the team signed Favre, and it's possible they will not be going away any time soon unless Favre can completely silence them with his play.

Vikings coach Brad Childress was even asked Wednesday about the speculation.

"I've seen the same reports you've seen," Childress said. "Those are opinions. It's hard to shoot holes in an opinion. It's just that -- an opinion. I certainly don't see it."

LOL, what's worse, the reporter who keeps the Brett Favre rumor mill flowing or the reporter who puts this kind of crap online? 'Some' could be the entire team or it could be just 1 or 2. Anyone who has ever seen Jackson or Rosenfels plays knows that the 'some' who think they give the Vikes a better chance to win probably did as well as Vince Young on the Wonderlic (sp?) test.

OR, they asked Jackson and Rosenfels. :)

I've been trying to avoid this but while I hated Brett for 17 years, he's now on my team so I'll cheer for him (I don't have to like him). It's very clear that he's better than TJax or Sage so this is an excellent choice by management (plus they sold somethiing like 3000 season tickets in the three hours after he signed). What I really want to know is what's his value to a fantasy football team? I figure that among starting QBs he's better than Shawn Hill and maybe Edwards.

He could end up being very valuable. He was great for the Jets last year until he got injured.

Yeah I think he's a potentially high reward pick for little risk.

QBs in my estimation:
1. D. Brees
2. T. Brady
3. P. Manning
4. A. Rogers
5. P. Rivers
6. C. Palmer (serious injury risk here)
7. D. McNabb
8. K. Warner
9. M. Schaub
10. T. Romo
11. M. Hasslebeck
12. E. Manning
13. J. Cutler
14. M Cassell (gut feeling that Cassell + Bowe = money)
15. M. Ryan
15. C. Pennington
16. B. Favre
17. J. Flacco
18. M. Bulger
19. D. Gerard
20. B. Rothlisberger
21. J. Delhomme
22. T. Edwards
23. K. Orton
24. B. Quinn
25. Cambell
26. M. Stafford (assuming he starts)
27. M. Sanchez
28. S. Hill

I don't really think you're that far off-base, I tend to move Romo up because all the fantasy "experts" think he's a #6-8 quality QB while I thought he's about 15 in my original rankings.
