Growing up: Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, Nintendo/SNES/Genesis/Atari/Intellivision/TG-16/GB/GG/Master System, walkie-talkies

As of now (18 yrs.): Dreamcast/N64/PSX/PC/Saturn/SNES/NES/Genesis/GBC, Yo-yo's, two-way radios, Handheld PCs, cell phones

Toys are relative 😀

Also, when I was a kid, I had quite possibly the largest collection of Ninja Turtles action figures EVER...no one else's mentioned them yet...am I a freak or something, alone in a world of plastic mutant amphibians? 🙂

Transformers, GoBots, He-man, Voltron, Thundercats, TMNT, NES/SNES.

I even had the He-man castle with the microphone on it and all the voltron tigers that formed the big fighter guy with a sword and ninja star. 🙂

legos...lots of it

had 5 monorails, 6 trains, 4 skyscrapers, police and fire dept and a full working city sitting on our family room table.

I played with all the usual suspects for a young child in the early 80s (Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man), but my favorite was always my old Star Wars stuff. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I have every single figure they put out (even the ones you could only get via Cereal box proof-of-purchases.) I also had most of the big ships/bases/other stuff that went with them. Man I loved that stuff. My little brother was a big GI Joe freak. We would spend hours setting up these elaborate GI Joe vs. Star Wars battle scenes. Then once we were finished we were like "now what?"

I imagine that stuff is worth a pretty penny now since it's all original and in pretty good shape (the only things I'm missing are a lot of the original weapons.) I took a picture of all the stuff a couple of years ago for insurance purposes. I'd never sell them but it'd be cool to know what they're worth.

Obviously legos...
I can't believe nobody has mentioned the simple plastic army men! Green vs Tan in the sandbox! 🙂
Many plastic men lost their lives as children got older and discovered the magic of the feared aim n flame strapped to a tank. 😉

Anyone remember the little beast toys where you put your thumb on their stomache and it would eithertunr into water, wood, or fire? I had bazillions of those and their bases. Damn they owned but we lost most of them in my backyard. Those and the Mask action figures.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't notice any mention of HotWheels or Matchbox cars either. My brother and I used to take one of those flexible loop-to-loop stunttracks and stretch it out straight in our hallway. Then we'd get at opposite ends of the track and have head-on collision tournaments to see which car would win (i.e., stay on the track.) We'd get all into it modifying and tweaking our favorite contendors (mine was a Greyhound bus filled with ball bearings, his was a low profile formula 1 car with a steel plate secured to the top for extra weight.) Geez that sounds stupid now, but it sure was fun at the time.

OMFG!!!! How could I forget all the time I wasted with stuff like M.A.S.K. (bootleg Transformers) Voltron, Hot Wheels cars and even the infamous Green and Tan army men (or their red and white "Cowboys and Indians" counterparts)

I can still remember it all...An incredibly sunny room, with it's floor totally covered in cowboys and indians, a literal sea of red and white; and my brother and I holding magnifying glasses over them all, in an attempt to melt the unsuspecting plastic warriors...or me taping bare wire to GI Joes, and sticking the wires carefully into wall outlets...or nightlong festivals of building the longest, widest, multiple-room-filling Hot Wheels tracks, and then sending a convoy of cars thru that motorized launcher thing to see how many cars would last the whole three room course and survive the plethora of loops and corkscrews...God...what I wouldn't give to be a kid again sometimes...

Legos. More precisely: Space Legos 🙂. And plastic soldiers!

One of the bad thing in growing up is that you can't play with Legos anymore 🙁. Well, you could, but 24-year old playing with Legos would get some funny looks...

<< Wait until you have kids Nemesis, then you can play with your legos again 😀 >>

true. Untill that happens I just have to keep on visiting my girlfriends family, they have a 6-year old kid, who plays with Legos. I have a good excuse to play with Legos there ("he asked me to build him a spaceship") 🙂.
