V, II, III, VI, I, IV

Basically, I consider 1, 2, 3 and 6 to be just about on the same level. 4 is basically unwatchable for me. It's a terrible film in just about every aspect. 5 is a cinematic masterpiece. Everything else is really just 'meh'.

ewoks are pretty terrible when you re-watch it, plus the whole death star re-hash is kind of lame. The ewok party at the end is pretty bad as well.

best bits of Jedi:
Jaba palace and Sarlacc
Leia bikini
Luke v Vader v Emperor (to me, this is the best sequence of the entire series)

I don't mind the Ewoks so much--it's a great theme, problem is they are just made to be fluffy and cute. you have ancient tribe defeating modern superior technology. Think Afghanistan vs all of history's failed attempts to concur it.

As a Star Wars expert and perhaps the biggest fan on AT, I would have to say this guy gets it. This is the correct order.

except that episode IV really is shit in the end. It gets the nod only because it was the first and established so much. That's fine, but just about everything about it outside of the music and the first time ever seeing a lightsaber is shit (the Lucas effect)

The Ewoks are what caused Episode VI to fall to third. If not for them, it might have been the best. I definitely think the final confrontation scene between Luke and Vader is the best scene in the series.

Episode IV is not bad at all.

The order goes:

V
IV
VI
III
II
I

My only slight revision would be to put I ahead of II, because the love talk dialogue and Yoda light saber fights in II were as awful as anything I've ever seen.

Actually I liked the darkness of III enough that I might even put it ahead of VI, but I have not seen IV in a long time so can't be sure either way.

Episode IV does not hold up. It has it's moments, justt like every other film, but if I process a list in my head IV drops to the bottom of the list for "things I'd want to make time to watch." Seriously, I'd watch every other movie and skip IV. it's just almost too painful to watch.

The prequels tried to have redeeming qualities, but fell short. They also had some really ugly qualities that cannot be ignored.

I kind of ignore the Ewoks, for some reason I can more easily ignore them than freaking Jar Jar, who won't shut up for anything.

Anyway, I love both Empire and Jedi, great classic Sci-Fi. SW was okay, must have been amazing for the time, but Alec Guiness really held that one together, without him and Harrison Ford it would have been pretty rough.

The prequels. Sigh.

They really are interesting. But just not good movies. Bad writing, and somehow Lucas managed to get terrible performances from some GOOD actors. One would think Hayden Christensen can't act. That isn't true, he's actually been pretty damned good in some films. But in SW, him and Natalie (another fave of mine) were just freaking terrible. Oh, and then they take Liam Neeson and give him inadequate screen time for the series. I haven't gotten to how astonishingly bad JarJar was, or how dumb most of the plot was. Even the names were terrible. DOOKOO? REALLY?

Ah well, I expect good (at least fun) things from JJ's reboot.

I used to think Phantom Menace was the worst. But once I rewatched Episode II a few times, I realized just how bad it was and that "elevated" Phantom Menace.

Went with the original. It can stand alone and the happy memories aren't completely ruined for me. Well...I also have a "corrected" version, for that matter.

Need to go download the "corrected" Empire and Jedi versions for that matter.
