I must be one of the few people who like The Final Frontier. Something about the laid-back philosophical aspect draws me to it.

Star Trek V suffers from a distinct lack of budget which is odd considering IV was a blockbuster.
I think of all the movies, V has the most character development between Kirk, Spock and McCoy than the series or other moveis.
Now get he damn light out of my face.

I liked The Undiscovered Country, but I also liked Search for Spock and The Motion Picture. The Voyage Home was a little too silly although it is cute. Final Frontier, Generations, and Nemesis sucked. First Contact and Insurrection were okay.

Yeah I think I need to put The Undiscovered Country up above First Contact now, it really was a great movie with so much going for it. I've watched it a lot of times and might just have to do it again due to this thread.

And douchenozzle's voice makes me turn that shit off. And Picard changed after being assimilated by the borg and through all his dealings with them. He became more like Guinan as his interactions with the borg increased.

Mr. Plinkett is a character AND a reviewer.

...a GREAT one.

As for the "change after being assimilated," he addressed that too.

But it had a very very stupid story. I think the script was good at one point, because the premise COULD have worked, but after budget cuts it turned into that turd.

One scene will turn you away:

Im gonna say ST:TMP because other than the great ST2:WOK, all others were hokey and overdone. I did like undiscovered country but that was just so effing hokey and klingon Shakespeare just killed it.

IV.

Watched and loved most all of the franchise's series, tng my favorite (& ds9, but can't objectively compare that because of drugs), most of the movies new & old, but still don't guess I'm among the core fans, traditionalists. IV, the one with the whales, colorful metaphors, nuclear wessels, al-ah-meed-ah, the fun of nonchalantly introducing technology to the past, just so much memorable stuff, packed full of the most comedy was what I enjoyed. I can rewatch that one all the time.

First Contact is the best.

V is comedy gold, followed by a rousing rendition of "Row, Row Your Boat," followed by unintentional comedy gold, so... special place in my heart.

Drunk Marina Sirtis... was that first contact?

Why so much insurrection hate? I thought it was actually decent. Probably behind undiscovered country, and first contact though. But good overall. 4 was good. I know the going back in time to earth is an uber cliché, but it was good overall.

IV with the whales is my favorite. It's stupid but enjoyable. Probably because I watched it thousands of times as a child. Oh well. Beyond that I'd say 3 is very good.

First Contact on the other hand is terrible. They break the Prime Directive about 87 times during the movie, without even a second thought.

Oh man, that whole scene was cringe worthy. Ruined the entire movie right there.

Star Trek 11 (2009) sucked.

"I should have killed you when I had the chance!"... oh, brother

First Contact on the other hand is terrible. They break the Prime Directive about 87 times during the movie, without even a second thought.

"Hmm, violate the Prime Directive with the best intentions and in the hope that I'll survive, or don't with the absolute certainty that I won't exist as a result... decisions, decisions..."
