Letting the Cables Sleep, Inflatable, Chemical Between Us... all good songs.

But I love Swallowed the most.

I've seen them live 4 times, met them after the show 3 of those times.

Shame they broke up... I hope Gavin's new band "Institute" takes off.

I saw them back in... 1996 I believe. Good show with the Goo Goo Dolls (before they sucked) and No Doubt.

Why'd they break up anyways? They were really good

In the fall of 2002, one of their Guitarists, Nigel, left the tour early because his wife was very close to having a baby. A guy by the name of Chris Traynor replaced him. (Chris is pretty sweet.) by the spring of 2003, Nigel had pretty much said that he's out because he doesn't want to miss his child growing up. They were still on tour, they finished their show dates in the States in the late summer of 2003, and they were pretty much on ice until early 2005 when they finally announced that they called it quits. It wasn't a bad break up or anything, they just agreed that it wouldn't be the same without Nigel and they just weren't feeling it anymore.

Gavin had been working on an album with another band that he started up while they were on ice called "Institute" with Chris Traynor and a couple of other guys. They released their first album in the summer of 2005. The sales were mediocre but it's probably because they didn't get much radio attention.

One of the things that really hurt them was the timing of their last album, Golden State. It was set to be released in mid September, 2001. It's first single was called "Speed Kills". The original album art had a picture of an airplane on it. When the 9/11 disaster happened, they had to delay the album and change a bunch of stuff. The single was renamed "The People That We Love", the album was changed to a single golden front with some text, and it was pushed back until November or so because they needed time to change these things. So naturally, after a campaign to tell people this album would be out in September, then not releasing it until November, the album didn't do so well.
