I just started listening to some Floyd on Youtube (via the Gilmour concert thread).

I'm going to go with a less recognized song:
Fearless (Meddle album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCgQuj8v2gg

fearless is damn beautiful, love that song. few people seem to pay attention to Meddle, accept the floyd fans, I guess. It tends to be very highly regarded amongst the Floyd Freaks. ...maybe except for those that only listen to the Wall, or whatever..

for me, it is and will always be Wish You Were Here. Shine, Mother, Dogs--really dig Wish you Were Here, Animals, and Meddle.

of course, nothing wrong with DSotM or The Wall, either.

Marooned, The Trial, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, Corporal Klegg, Welcome To The Machine.

its not easy to pick a favorite song but i like "free four" from the album obscured by clouds(which i highly recommend)

My favorite song changes, but overall I'd have to go with Shine on You Crazy Diamond, specifically from the Pulse concert posted earlier. From the DVD : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6u4X-obat4

Thread reminds me of the 70s. I has a "sound chair". It was basically an enclosed set of speakers and a seat. Plug it into a head phone jack, pull the curtain over the front, fire up a doobie and rock out to Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

Looked a LITTLE like this:

Wish You Were Here will always hold a special place for me, we played it at my brother's memorial service.

I don't know that I could pick a true favorite, but I have always loved On The Turning Away and Learn to Fly.

On a related note, saw Roger Waters Saturday night perform the Wall, and it was simply AMAZING.

My favorite is Dogs off the Animals album. I never hear people talking about that as one of their better tracks but It's my favorite.

Of course I like all the classics, too:
Another Brick in the Wall
Any Colour you Like
Brain Damage
Comfortably Numb
Eclipse
Have a Cigar
Hey You
Learning to Fly (really not pink floydian at all but a good one)
Money
Speak to me/Breathe
The Great Gig in the Sky (love the intro)
Time
Us and Them (prob my second favorite)
Wish you were here
Young Lust

Dont really have a favorite song. I like entire albums.

Wish You Were Here is a phenominal album. And of course Dark Side is great, even if it is overplayed. Didnt really like the Wall that much. Liked Pigs, meddle, and Obscured by clouds. Honestly have listened to the final cut, Momentary lapse of reason was meh but Division Bell was solid.

One thing is the duo of waters and gilmour made the band. Gilmours music is awesome while waters lyrics take the song to the next level. Both on their own are meh, but I do like Gilmour more. I would go to a David Gilmour concert where I wouldnt a waters concert. I do like the Live in Gdansk album by Gilmour.

Time, Money. the mixing is as perfect as i could imagine.
I got to work with Alan Parsons on a couple of concerts so his work will always hold a special place.

My most favorite song: One Of My Turns

Ranking the albums from Great to Greatest...
A Saucerful of Secrets
Wish You Were Here
Atom Heart Mother
The Wall
Meddle
Darkside of the Moon
Animals

yes yes, there are others, but these are the ones that count imo

dogs is awesome, but i prefer pigs off that album.

Glad to see some people have heard it at least 🙂 - I think the 17 minute long track throws some people off. Dogs was actually the only track I could get into off the highly praised Animals album. Could never find a live version, except for one that Roger Waters (and no one else from Floyd) did on the 'In the Flesh' album 4 years ago. That wasn't too bad actually.
