Easynews web, I hate downloading headers and putting pieces together.

Is Easynews self extracting feature working really well now or is it still in beta?

Easynews does rock but its sorta expensive but with 20 Gig for $9.95 and roll over gigs its a little more worth it sense if you let those 20 gigs pile up and not use much for a while you have a lot of gigs to play with! Then you have the free gigs you can get every month too!

BrokenVisage there is a lot of old stuff on newsgroups. I seen stuff thats very old. Now if they don't have what you want all you have to do is ask. Did you try that already and get rejected hehe ?

Let's see... I can either use Azureus for free, where I can search a variety of databases to download new and old stuff at very fast torrent speeds depending on the seeds (I guess it's just slow for you because you don't know how to configure a router). Or pay.. have to request for something I can't find not knowing if I'll even get it.. and worry about staying under a quota each month even though I pay for the service.

Bottom line: I can get most anything on Usenet for free on torrent.. so I say again, torrents are better. You just think because the complexity, or lack there of if you ask me, of Usenet keeps n00bs and morons alike away from using bandwidth. Us BT users welcome the n00bs that download like crazy and become another seed/peer to connect with. You do it your way and be happy, and I'll do it mine. There are plus and minuses but you seem to be very pigheaded about BT, which annoys me slightly.

There are plenty of things on newsgroups that you can never get on BT.

Explain.. examples? What do you mean never? The same dude who uploads something to a newsgroup could easily torrent it too, same goes for someone who downloads a bunch of rar's for something off a newsgroup. I use newsgroups so I'm not trying to badmouth it, but don't throw this fuzzy logic at me that saying you can get a peice of software one place and not another.

I remember a few years ago when you know who was just getting started. Great community that would filter out all the bad/corrupted/infected newgroup files & would be like clockwork when it came to a daily download. I even remember donating a few dollars & uploading my share of stuff. I haven't found a place like that again, & usenet just doesn't seem like my type of deal. I don't know where to turn.

You don't have TBs worth of stuff on BT unlike Usenet.

And where's the Outlook Express option in the poll 😉

Mine is SABnzbd I think because it does everything for you in one click. Plus there really is no heavy duty program to run in the background really. Though I still like newsleecher just that you have to run dldone as well for everything to be done in one click. Though dldone does have its advantages.

For all the people who use linux here you all should check out hellanzb its really awesome too! Does everything for you as well!

I remember trying to use outlook express at first for newsgroups about 2 years or longer ago lol. I gave up because I finally found out I really couldn't and even if I could its not as nice as other newsgroup clients. So I just switched to grabit, when it was totally free, and used that for a few years using my free isp newsgroup server with 2 to 4 day retention and downloading headers lol. Headers were pretty fun but finally found a easier way even though I sorta knew about it as I was using headers just never wanted to use the easier way. Finally began looking and using the easier way. A lot easier but still being able to know and learn how to use headers is important before using the easier way! Plus its good incase the easier way goes down hehe!
