You like gladiator movies?

Original Ace Ventura was funny when it first came out just fore it's sheer over the top goofiness. But he's gone back to that same well so many times and so poorly usually that I can't stand most of his movies. Even in his serious roles you can see that goof ball humour just straining to get out under the surface. Having said that he is fairly good in Man on the Moon.

my father developed an unnatural hate for Jim Carey after seeing the cable guy. He absolutely refuses to even be in the room when any Jim Carey movie is on.

my parents both hate Jim Carrey with a passion, especially my dad, he can't fuckin stand him. I don't like him either to be honest, he's a typical Canadian moron and I don't find most of his humor funny. The 2 movies I mentioned were great in themselves and I think he could of easily been replaced by someone else to fill the roles.

I should also add The Mask to the list. I haven't seen the movie in decades but as a kid it was entertaining.

That was actually a pretty good movie. Was interesting to see Jim in a serious role.

I'm sure it was a fine movie but I hated it... probably the number one worst movie you can watch after you get dumped

Timing is everything... yes, watching that right after being dumped might induce you to do the same.

Hard to day. Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Eternal Sunshine, Man on the Moon, The Cable Guy, The Majestic, Truman show, Me, Myself and Irene and Ace Ventura Pet Detective were all pretty good. He broke through with the silly funnies and finally managed to do the serious movies, but the execs just want a funny man to be a funny man.

I liked watching him on In Living Color but after having watched about five minutes of Cable Guy I find I can't watch him at all anymore. I understand that he's an actor and it was just a part but talk about creepy.
