Winterboard if you want themes. Backgrounder if you want to have apps running in the background.

SBSettings - quick access to turn features on and off.
Pockettouch if you listen to music
hclipboard - Copy & Paste
Cydelete - if you install Winterboard, lets you delete apps right from the UI without having to load Cydia
five icon dock - add a 5th icon to your bottom dock
five-column Springboard - add a 5th column
fiveIrows - adds a 5th row for icons
Stack

if you end up installing a lot of stuff the five column and Irows are awesome, they make it so you can have 25 icons on each page (30 with bottom dock 5) I have about 100 apps installed total so it condensed things a great deal. For music playback PocketTouch is the greatest thing ever. I can control my tunes with my iPhone in my pocket without having to know what I'm pressing.

Intelliscreen - Adds info to your lockscreen such as your Calendar, E-Mail, Weather and News
Elert - Pop-up of new e-mail from within any app
Sbsettings - Mentioned above
Live Clock - Animates the clock in Springboard (no real purpose, just brings a little more life)
Live Weather - Changes the icon of the Weather app to match the actual weather, also adds the actual temp and the ability to add the temp/weather condition to the title bar.

Its not an app per say, but Jailbraking also allows you to change the system font. I wasn't a big fan of the stock font so I changed mine to a much more pleasing font (IMO).

My current homescreen

nice icons aphex, did you find a pack of them? I don't much like the default ones, the ones in the Vivid theme are cool but don't go with any not included with it at all, not to hijack OP's thread but your icons look pretty bad ass

awesome thank you man! Looking at your again after I downloaded the icons and tossed some on, what was making it stick out to me wasn't so much the icons, but the spacing between the rows. The icons are still very clean, that spacing makes it really pop, I had 5 rows and it seemed too crowded, I like the 5 columns though. Looks like I have some more modding to do.

Once you turn off the undocked icons text, it opens up quite a bit.

OHHH Forget Quickgold! How well does it work for you dougp? I seem to have mixed results, some things it finds no problems, others not so much luck. and aphex I've had icon text turned off for awhile but my icons are still sort of bunched up.

Works for me, I think of it like Launchy. I only use it for apps though.
