Ball Park Franks Grill Master Hearty Beef.

250 calories a dog, 200 of them fat. (Actually better than most beef dogs, if you believe it :Q)

Hebrew Nationals are good, but too small and skinny.

That's interesting because the Hebrew Nationals at Costco are gigantic.

they come in different sizes...i think it is like 12 skinny ones or 8 fatter ones.

Costco puts 14 in a package.

For you east coast guys: is Roessler's (sp) still around? They were very popular when I lived back there many years ago.

Yep, still around, not as popular though. Roessler fans like myself can still find them, but it takes a little effort. The hot dog joints that use higher end brands tend to almost exclusively use Hummels. Hummels are good, Roessler's are better. I used to live a couple of blocks away from southern Connecticuts best hot dog joint, they've always used Roesller franks and probably always will. Whenever I'm in the area I stop by for a couple with the works.

🙂

Tsk Tsk Tsk...

/thread to Hebrew National? Umm eww??? There really is only one decent brand of hotdogs out there and thats Vienna Beef. Sure not everyone is lucky enough to live in Chicago, but if you are and you say anything but Vienna Beef you will be quickly kicked out of the Chicago land area.

Hoffy 1/4 pound all beef, I dunno about the best, but I had one tonight with XTANT chilli on it. WOAH.

I like Nathens too

I live in rural Ohio, so I eat a lot of deer 'hot dogs'. Very tasty, fresh from the butcher, NOT mechanically seperated beef/chicken/turkey bits.

Nope, it's Rawley's in Fairfield. Swanky Franks uses Hummels AFAIK. I'm out in the Norwalk area pretty often and will pop into Swanky Franks every now and then. Not too fond of their deep fried dogs, the grilled ones are really good though. I also like Super Super Weenie dogs. They get a special dog made for them by a local butcher shop, it's a mix of beef, pork and veal. The owner even makes his own relish and sauerkraut.

Fenway Franks 😛

Seriously, I like the non-fat Ball Park Franks, they're really not too bad, doesn't really taste any different.
