The thought of making my own flavors appeal to me.
The best store bought ice cream I ever had was a Dreyer's Apple flavor.

It was only out in summers, then they stopped selling it. Around here at least.

I would love to try this at home.
 
Can someone link me to a decent ice cream maker? This summer I had TWO makers crap out on me. They were the salt/ice bucket variety which I prefer cause I like to make 2-4 quart batches.

We bought the ice cream maker kit for our Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It does a fine job.

Vanilla and strawberry is all we've made. Both delicious.
