My first computer (actually my second as my sister broke my Atari 400):

Atari 800XL (still works and I still turn it on every now and then)
Have the Enhanced floppy drive model 1050 (a whole 170k per side)
Have the 4 color plotter/printer
Have the tape drive (back in the day, before floppies, we used cassette drives for storage)

Total cost at the time: $1200

I remember waiting 60 mins for Jumpman to load from cassette only to fail loading at the end. The good old days. Floppies were 10 bucks a pop.

I'm going to add my Diamond Monster MX300 sound card - Aureal Vortex 2 chipset. A3D blew me away in games like Unread Tournament.

nVidia bought 3dfx and never implemented their ideas, but at least nVidia had a great product already. Creative bought Aureal and burried A3D as far as they could. A3D was simply amazing compared to crappy EAX.

Talking about ushering in 3D with a bang. There was nothing ever like it on the PC.

Same here. I miss 3dfx :(

Also, Abit NF7-S rev.2

The original soundblaster. I remember Wing Commander, and the first real sound other than beeps was so exciting ! Made games so much more fun !

i jumped in on the VP6 with 2 P3's. That was awesome.... should've kept it.. dont see much of a difference when i upgraded to an Athlon XP 2400.
