My current one - first time I've ever been fully content with a card's performance and feature set. I felt the price was fair at the time too. Of course they can be had for less now.

That doesn't make it my favorite...You are allowed to like faster ones that maybe did something new or lasted you longer.

true, but nothing new(like AA, or DX features) has been as big of a improvement in gameply and playability than going from software to hardware.

ATI 9700 Pro. It was the first GPU upgrade that felt like over 2x performance boost. I upgrade so frequently that I never had more than 10-20% performance boost. So the 9700 Pro was a big surprise.

3dfx's Voodoo1. It made all the difference in the world.

I don't see how anybody could deny that this was the first earth shattering video card. Well at least for those that were around back in the day anyways! Many great cards have come and gone sense but in terms of jaw dropping ability I doubt anything will ever match the experience of playing the first game with the Voodoo 1.

Voodoo 1 for me. That thing blew my mind away. Tomb Raider looked so good, it felt like watching TV - nothing has come close to that experience since then.

Was either my Voodoo 2, Geforce 2, or Radeon 9500 (unlocked to 9700). Really not sure. They were all awesome and fun cards.

Those Voodo's are a little before my time ():)

9800 pro for me..

but I also have to give it to the 4850, since it released at only $150 and played everything I threw at it, even with 4xAA.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 4800 series marked the end of the age-old trend of having to spend $400 on video cards.

The longest card I have ever had was my Radeon 4850.

$95
December 2008 - September 2011

Though it terms of being impressed by the performance, I think my recent GTX 460 is king. It just handles so much.

I also have fond memories of my Ti4200 allowing me to use AA and AF in Counter-Strike, and my X1800XT maxing out BF2.

My pair of 12mb Voodoo 2s. Nothing like playing Decent Freespace 2 at 1024x768!
Even picked up a pair of the TenMaxx Stealth coolers and pushed these things to a whopping 100mhz+

9500GT. It may not seem like much but for a guy who was just getting into the hardware scene 4 years ago, the jump from integrated to dedicated was huge. Since the card didn't force me to replace my power supply or anything, I could simply plug it into an OEM Dell machine that I had been using- truly Plug and Play.

Definitely my Nvidia GeForce Ti 4600. I am pretty sure I bought it from Wal-Mart back in the day. No clue how much I paid for it.

8800 GT, GTX 260 B, and my current setup with the 6950's were/are all stellar.

I have had 3 BFG cards, an 8800 ultra DOA, a 6800 GT which ran fine for years before I needed to RMA, and a 7800 GS i used to upgrade an old AGP rig with, I think I still have it somewhere.

Also have a spare 9800 GTX, and a 5870 in a spare system. I bought another 5870 later, only to realize that it was non reference on arrival :C It was a triple slot visiontek, later sold it. Before the 6800 GT comp, I was on a pentium 3 with a radeon 7500 :c

My memory is failing but was it 7900 GT that lets you pencil-mod vCore? I had fun toasting those. :D

My least favorite card is Radeon 9800 AIW. What a freaking nightmare the drivers were.

Drivers were always an issue with ATI. They would come out with great hardware and saddle it with poor drivers. The 9700 and 9800 series were great cards hardware wise but I recall one BS problem after the other with each driver release. They'd fix one thing and break another thing. The Nvidia GF 5xxx series were garbage. Although I had a 5900 which was the only 5xxx series card worth a shit IMO. It was a monster with DX8 games but DX9 performance sucked.

For me my favorite cards were my GF256, GF4 Ti4200, 9600GT(great card for the $$ when it first came out). I dropped out of the PC gaming things years ago and rarely fire up a game now...I'm out of the loop but I read up on the latest and greatest cards.

The 6600gt was my first real gaming card. It was very capable at the time. I had an fx5200(It had 128mb of vram so it had to be good sigh) prior to it so the performance difference was insane. I remember playing BF2 at 1280x1024 medium-high settings. It was mind blowing at the time to me.

Flaw in the diamond was the heat. It ran pretty hot. Best longevity of any gfx card I've owned.

I actually owned three different GPUs for a while (all were ATI 6970). They were PowerColor, Saphire, and the Diamond. BY FAR the Diamond was the best built card, ran slightly cooler, and considering the fan configuration the noise was tolerable compared to others. Proud owner of two Diamond Radeon 6970s.

Probably either the Mobility Radeon 9000, or Radeon 4650, With the 9000, I was able to play Halo CE, HL2, Portal etc. smoothly which was all I wanted and with the 4650 I'm able to play Bioshock, ALL source engine games, and a few others on Max Settings at 1680x1050 and many other console ports running just fine on high/medium including Bad Company 2 and Mafia 2. Decent bang for buck imo.
