Did you know it expands once you beat king league on expert?

Oh, another sleeper hit for SNES if you like the vertical scrolling shooters:

Strike Gunner S.T.G.

What about Space MegaForce?

You mean F-Zero for SNES or F-Zero X for N64?

I used to play Puzzle Fighter but lost the ROM when the computer crashed. Haven't been able to find a replacement.

SNES.

Never played F-Zero X. I assume the graphics are better but is it funner than the original?

I play old stuff on Dosbox and Basilisk pretty often. I went through Lemmings Chronicles for the first time just a month ago.

I DOSBox a lot of old Sierra adventure games (KQ/QFG/SQ/etc.), also love playing just about any old NES game (A Boy and His Blob, and the Dragon Warrior series recently). I often go back and play Mario 64 a lot on my 64 emulator.

Does anyone know of a decent classic Mac emulator apart from Basilisk? It runs most of my old stuff well, but there are some games that run way too fast and a handful that don't have sound. There is no way to make the emulation run slower as far as I can tell. It has a framerate limiter but that has no effect on the speed, and external programs like CPUKiller don't do much for it either.

Neo Geo games forever

I actually had a console until my ex sold it....grr...

but now I can play all the games for that great system!

I also dig the newer CPS3 emulated games, as well as the older Capcom games

Mame, btw, works just fine in Vista, but I usually use Kawaks

I just sat down with Star Fox 64 and beat it in 30 minutes...lol, was a blast to the past, but it surprised me how good the old games can look with some anti-aliasing.
Ya but emulators ARE NOT 100% RELIABLE!!

I have MAME,atari 2600 and Colecovision emu programs and my Coleco one freezes after so long of playing a game!!!!! (@ least when playing donkey kong (I really would love getting another atari/coleco console -- I have tons of cartridges for both!!))

One thing I do like about them though is PAL GAMES WILL WORK!!!! -- Some of them anyway......

I have to start with the greatest arcade game ever made, which is Robotron 2084. I actually own a Robotron cabinet but I still tend to play on my M.A.M.E. cabinet because it is more convenient (pause button helps when you have a marathon game going).

After that there are tons of great arcade games (Karate Champ, Gyruss, Rolling Thunder, Tempest, NBA Jam, etc.).

I actually still play Larry Bird vs. Dr.J One on One on an Atari 800 emulator from time to time as well. If I have friends over sometimes we will play Tecmo Bowl (NES) or NBA Jam (Sega) on the big screen. I am a little too old to have fond console memories, so most of my emulation play is arcade related.

I like that this thread is now a blast from the past as well.

My laptop is not a graphical powerhouse, so SNES JRPG's right now. I want to actually beat FFVI without any cheat codes or anything. The laptop may eventually go to Genesis and GBA ones as well. I use SNES9x. I would like to use higan, but it's not quickly apparent how/if *.ips files work.

On the desktop, PSX and PS2 emulation. PS2 mostly because my PS3 had to be replaced and I lost the emulator that was built-in. I may also end up doing GCN and N64, but my backlog will have to fall off first.

I liked emulating FF6 on my first PC because I could play it without a gamepad, which I did not have at the time.

So many Wii and Gamecube games. They actually looked pretty nice for their day, but 480p is such a crappy resolution.

The ones that improve most from the upscale are F-Zero GX, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns.
