"Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents used to give the human body, animals, objects, and living spaces a pleasant scent"

1. a substance, extract, or preparation for diffusing or imparting an agreeable or attractive smell, esp. a fluid containing fragrant natural oils extracted from flowers, woods, etc., or similar synthetic oils.
2. the scent, odor, or volatile particles emitted by substances that smell agreeable.

What you're wearing is perfume. Do not confuse yourself.

You poor poor man, I cannot count how many times a girl who gets close to me says, "Wow you smell amazing." Then proceeds to push her face into my chest.

So if you aren't wearing it, you may in fact be the confused one.

Gimme a break, most women tell men they love the smell of the laundry detergent, fabric softener, deodorant, soap etc etc they use. 😀

I'd say if you need perfume to attract the opposite sex, you're the one on the short end of the stick. 🙂

I gets lots of compliments from the ladies when I wear Jean Paul Gaultier.

This is what I have. Awesome, and not widely worn.

I don't mind cologne/perfume when used responsibly. If I can smell you coming from down the hall you're doing it wrong. When I wear it I only use one spray from the bottle and not even directly on to me - I spray it in to the air and walk in to it.

I love the smell of fabric softener / dryer sheets <3

cologne would never make the difference between sleeping with someone vs not, but a guy who was wearing great cologne is definitely more memorable after the fact.

that sounds pretty gay, and this coming from someone who has sex with men 😉

I get plenty of compliments about my cologne, that's why I wear it going out.

I did use to wear one by Yves Saint Laurent called Body. The ladies loved it (it's a very mellow smell, but my one gf used to ask me to spray it on before, um, retiring for the night), even my boss commented on it, but I dropped my bottle on the ground and never bothered to replace it.

I'm not really a huge fan of wearing cologne, but if I were to start again, I would wear this stuff.

It's not a need, it's a part of the package. You look good, you smell good, you are good.

When you have them asking you "OMG what are you wearing? Blah blah blah." It's a good conversation starter. That's what a good cologne does for you. If you don't want that, then by all means continue with your current soap scent. But I would expand my opportunities rather than shrink them.

You do realize I was being sarcastic about the soap etc? I am a big fan of cologne and agree with you.

I can't stand Cool Water... seems like every douche I knew in high school wore it, so the scent is forever associated with them.

lol so true, Cool Water and Curve were worn by damn near everyone in HS and College.
you simply can't wear a cologne that is that overdone.

Same thing continues today, I buy cologne that everyone doesn't wear. I use to wear Jivago 24k. I went to Nordstroms to test, got samples, let some girls pick ones they liked also and ended up with the one I wear still. I didnt buy Acqua Di Gio cause everyone buys it.
