Let's hear 'em. I've got a lot of random booze and ingredients around, and it's been a long day...

Redheaded slut. I like it for the name and for how useful it is for loosening up the ladies. I prefer scotch or bourbon myself, straight or on rocks. If I must drink a cocktail, it will be vodka & Red Bull. 16oz glass fill with ice, half can of Red Bull and fill with vodka.

I'm a big fan of old man cocktails. At home I've been making a lot of Sazeracs recently. Pretty simple if you have the stuff.

2 oz rye whiskey
1/4 oz simple syrup
4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Stir with ice for about 10 seconds. Take a chilled old fashioned glass and put in a few drops of Absinthe and spin it to coat the inside of the glass. Dump out the excess. Strain out the ice into the glass then take a lemon peal and wipe the rim and place the peal in the drink.

that's not a cocktail. that is a highball.

im personally a fan of a simple cranberry juice and vodka..

that's called a cape cod. you may also be a girl.

there's only two cocktails so far in this thread, the sazerac and the manhattan. both legit. i'm partial to the sazerac, myself.

I don't know that I could ever choose just one. But if forced, probably an Old Fashioned, made the proper way, with rye whiskey, simple syrup and bitters, served with a twist of lemon over one large ice cube. No orange, no cherry, no muddling, and not a whole bunch of tiny ice cubes watering down my drink. Simple, elegant, good regardless of the weather, timeless.
