I always loved the opening credits to James Bond movies. Not just the music but also the creative visuals. My father is a big Bond fan and owns all the movies so I decided to borrow a couple tonight, watching Quantum of Solace right now. I'm certain this is my favorite Bond movie as well as my favorite intro, although I did like the theme song Die Another Day so much I purchased the single.

Oh yeah, and these movies always remind me of how much I love Aston Martins.

My favorite BOND SONG is Live and Let Die. It's a great song even without the Bond tie-in but the Bond tie-in makes it even better. Sad that it's tied to one of the weaker Bond movies. My second favorite is Goldfinger. It's a catchy song and you really should listen to the words for it.

Casino Royale.

Worst: Quantum of Solace.

The old ones were alright.

Agreed.

Live and Let Die would be close second, thoughI like the song itself more.

License To Kill would have to be my third favorite.

9 times out of 10 Crono is right; this is one of those 9.

Really? What did you not like about QoS? The opening scene was awesome, the opening credits were awesome, and the next scene after was awesome. The movie is so full of awesome that I will probably watch it again later today.

The one where he flies that jet off the edge of a cliff, whichever one that was. Too bad the rest of the movie wasn't that good.

the man with the golden gun has a great intro

indeed. also the last good Roger Moore flick. Though I liked Spy who Loved me b/c Barbara Bach is so ridiculously hot.

for me, Casino Royale is great, Goldfinger, Thunderball (Tom Jones--fuck yeah!), Live and Let Die, Diamonds are Forever (though the movie sucked).

Quantum of Solace was a nonstop suck ride. Still fun to watch, but so, so inferior to Casino Royale.

Really? Man, I can't think of one action sequence in Casino Royale that can compare to 3 in QoS. And being an avid poker player, I was easily able to guess every hand in the game. I'm not saying Casino Royale sucked, it was a great movie. But it wasn't much of an action movie compared to QoS.

that's just it. QoS was nothing but mostly pointless, tedious action sequences. There was zero pacing, and a depressing lack of style, which is so essential to a Bond film. Casino Royale's Bond is widely considered the closest representation of Ian Fleming's original concept of Bond. Flicks like Goldfinger and From Russia with Love are classic examples of the film Bond.

QoS is much better than the Brosnan films, sure (except maybe Goldeneye), but next to Casino Royale, which was so surprisingly good, it seems like a Bond failure.

EDIT: QoS is more of a Bourne flick than a Bond flick.

Ok I can see your point then. I was viewing it as specifically an action movie rather than a Bond movie. To be honest, I completely lost interest in Bond with Bosnan. It was all about ridiculous gadgets that got really tired after a while. I like the pure action with Craig.

It's too bad we won't see a 23rd film any time soon.

Have you seen Octopussy? It's laughably bad. Quantum of Solace was definitely lacking, especially after Casino Royale, but I certainly wouldn't call it the worst.

I'll watch QoS over the putrid trash that was On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Never Say Never Again.

Though Die Another Day was almost unwatchable, I think it did have the catchiest opening theme song.

A View to a Kill was even worse. You see geriatric Bond making out with Grace Jones. Bleah :p

You mean Roger Moore didn't do that to you already? :D

yes, sad what has happened to the current production. :(
