The only author where I've read more then one of his/her books is Michael Crichton, I enjoy his stuff.

Chrichton is like, unreal. Almost all of his books are major movies.

Currently, Clive Cussler -- great adventure tales

Before, Dean Koontz -- his horror novels are excellent. His recent stuff is garbage. I stopped reading his newly released novels 5 years ago and from what I've heard, I haven't missed much...
Also, Robert R. McCammon was an excellent horror novelist (Swan Song!). Too bad he hasn't published anything in 10 years. He does have a new novel being released this year, but it doesn't sound appealing.
