Huh, I don't have a favorite wine, just like I don't have a favorite song. For me, wine is too wide of a category to have a fav. Narrow it to chardonnay or merlot, and we can talk (like narrowing music down to favorite hip-hop or rock & roll artist).
Take tonight for instance. We had grilled lobster tails (on sale at Harris-Teeter for $3.98 and there are $3.00 wine tags available ;-) ) with a Turning Leaf's Coastal Reserve (not sure on the name) chardonay - pretty good. Especially for $9 a bottle at HT. Then we had some Kendall Jackon (not sure on the spelling here) chardonnay at $13 a abottle (yeah, I know, I overpaid). But the KJ (normally a wonderful wine) did not sit well upon my tongue. Dunno if it was the lobster, or the previous wine, or my mood, but it wasn't as good as it usually is.
I guess what I am trying to say is, there is no fav wine. It depends on your mood, what's on the table, the atmosphere, a ton of other things. Or it does to me, anyway.
Oh, and it was my wife who put the cheap lobster tail deal together, not me. Don?t want to steal credit on that one. 🙂
