So I spent a ton of time and energy cutting and screwing with my current case. I'm not going to replace it now, but I'd like to see if it was worth it vs something that's already nice and pretty w/good fans etc.

So, what's your fav case? Under $150 with or w/o PSU, preferably shipped.

I see the Super LanBoy post and that's noted. I wonder is it better to have two 80mm fans in the front and 2 in the rear vs 1x1 120mms?

Btw, I currently have the antec soho 1080. old beasty. w/wc setup she weighs 50lb on the nose.

It also kind of stinks that you can only mount two 120mm fans stock. But I really like the removable mobo tray. The swiveling front panel is also a very nice touch.

How is the accessibility of this? Can you get to the back of the MB w/o a problem, or remove the mb from the system? all fingers screws? What about those drives bays, can you remove them or are they all riveted?

A lot of "connections" on my current antec case uses rivets. <--crap
 
My Lian Li - PC61b with window'd side panel. I spent great effort milling out a 120mm blow hole on the top after drilling out the rivots and bringing it to a machine shop that had a milling machine. My first ever computer case.

If you are referring to the mobo tray it pulls out completely.

Yeah 2 120mm fans, what crap is that? Lol, that's a lot of potential airflow I don't see what the problem is... medium speed 120mm fans put out 80ish cfm which is equivalent to 2 high speed 80mm fans.

Also, the sonata does not have very good access, the back of the mobo is NOT accessable at all, the right side panel doesn't come off.

I hate cases like that.
 
I have to join the ranks and say the Antec P160, in my case, the P160WF. It comes with a windowed side panel and a second Blue LED 120mm fan. Stays about 10C cooler than my Antec 1080AMG with 5*80mm fans, even though it has more heat generating gear (higher oc on proc, 2x10k rpm raptors, oc 9800 pro, etc). Excellent case, easy to work in, mobo tray makes things even easier.
 
my favorite case would have to be the antec aria cuz i like sleek, elegant, quiet, small, and customizable cases that can handle heat very well. so far, this is the only case i know of that fits these requirements. otherwise, my second favorite would have to be the sonata or the super lanboy

It is a little expensive, but after 2 years, I still wouldn't want any other case for my gaming rig. It's the benchmark on which I base all other case buying decisions. The space, motherboard tray, drive bays, and connectors (except those stupid front USB ones) make this the easiest case I've ever worked in. And its looks are timeless. 🙂
