i have an ongoing thread over in cpu/oc about my problem. essentially, after upgrading to an x2 4200+ from a 3400+, i have been getting random reboots (no bsod, system hangs for 2 seconds [sound/video pauses, the mouse becomes unresponsive] and then it reboots) . they started to occur while watching videos and doing desktop work which is why i started to stress test the system using Stress Prime. it hasn't happened while in games or running 3dmark demo loops. the reboots would also occur while stress testing and at random times (<1hr, after 2 hrs, 8 hrs, 10 hrs, etc). the replies i received seemed to suggest faulty/underpowered psu or increase cpu voltage.

is the ultra xfinity 500 wtt capable of handling my system?
amd64 x2 4200+ @ stock speed; arctic cooling freezer pro 64
2x1gb ddr400 dual channel using auto/spd settings (pqi 3-4-4-8; crucial 3-3-3-8)
ecs kn1 lite (nforce4 s939); onboard lan and sound
BFG nvidia 7600gt
500 wtt ultra xfinity psu
hauppague hvr1600
pci firewire card
400gb seagate SATA
liteon dvd-rom, iomagic dvd-rw
attached via usb/usb-hub: [logitech elite keyboard, logitech g5 mouse, xbox 360 wireless receiver, 8-in-1 flashcard reader, laser printer, bluetooth dongle]

the only difference was a 3400+ as opposed to the x2. i also want to point out that up until 2 months ago i had 5 hard drives in there.

thanks
