and on the matter of GH trolls, how about Dothan? look at his posts in the above thread. he spews straight up lies and false information. nothing worse than misleading someone spending hundreds of dollars...

While having an opinion is fine, the number of senseless and unconstuctive (trollish) posts made by this member is annoying to say the least.

Good point. When someone comes into the General Hardware forum for help on their first build, it should not (IMHO) be acceptable behavior to intentionally lie to them.

A difference of opinion such as preferring a Pioneer burner to a NEC3540, or recommending ATI over nvidia is one thing. But being blinded by bias to the point where you post "advice" like "3000+ venice can't touch power of Prescott!!!!" (to someone buying parts for a gaming PC) should eventually lead to a vacation.

I have so had it with Dothan, Intelia, fatty4ksu, Porkster, etc. I have all but given up posting anymore.... I definitely vote to ban all on my list above. Its too bad the small number of trolls ruin a nice board for the rest who want information.

after searching dothan and fatty4ksu, i am completely disgusted by their posts. its worth it for the laugh to look at their previous posts. half the time dothan posts complete lies, and then fatty4sku quotes him giving him the thumbs up sign. i can see it now, those two 13 year old's whose parents bought them a dell think their P4's are unmatched and stay up all night jerking each other off while they post here and giggle about it.

Is it really that difficult to just ignore them? Why does every pro-intel comment have to grow to a thousand post monstrosity?

If the regulars here weren't so quick to bash Tom's Hardware every chance they get, who knows, maybe there wouldn't be a problem?

It's not that his posts are pro-intel, it's that his posts are filled with MISINFORMATION.

If he is pro-intel and has facts to back it up, then he has every right to be pro-intel. Same with being pro-amd.

The fact is that he is spreading false information, and does so in a trolling way.

And that f4 and dothan lie to people in threads asking for help picking out parts. To me this is worse than when they start their own troll threads.

If someone asks for medical advice in OT they deserve to be told to take some dihydrogen monoxide.

If someone asks for help buying parts in General Hardware they do not deserve to be lied to by trolls.
