i would want her to be gorgeous and intelligent... and until she's 18, i'm gonna sit outside the house, on a rocking chair, with a shotgun, when a guy comes to pick her up on a date...

after she's 18... its her perogative.

Easy to say, really tough to do. After 18 that is... I've met some fathers that are really cool about it though.

That reminds me, the next time I go home I need to have a talk with my cousin Matt about my cousin Katie (his younger sister). He will be a sophomore next year, and she will be in 8th grade. It is time to tell him that part of his responsibility as her brother is to beat the living piss out of any guys that "mess" with her.

i know, i know... but that is something i am determined to do. i saw my uncle do it with my four cousins early on. he laid out exactly what he would pay / be responsible for and what he wouldnt. all four of my cousins graduated in the top 5 of high school, got, if not full, almost full scholarships to college, and are employed successfully.

however, implementation will still be difficult. i'll still stand by my child, but they will have to take responsibility for their own actions.

May I never be cursed with daughters. My god. I would have to worry about them all the time. There are people like me out in this world. I hadly get play and I feel like that would be bad enough. And then there are people much worse them me which scares me to death. Bah.... never want a daughter.

Children are a metaphysical obsenity in themselves regardless of their gender.

Never will have any.

i would want her to be pretty, just like i'd want my son to be handsome. but i'd also make sure they didn't let that go to their heads.

You can teach/raise a girl to be thoughtful, caring, kind, and studious, but you cannot teach one to be physically attractive. While there are liabilities to being extremely attractive, there are more advantages to it, and a woman who is assertive and intelligent can overcome the initial reaction that many people might have to assume she's an idiot.

I just hope mine will just have enough sense to keep her legs closed or use proper protection until she is financially and mentally ready to have a child. Because homely or HOT, chances are she will be sexually active during a time she need not be. This is the one concern I have with my "baby" girl - I just can't imagine any guy touching her, and I would want to "rip his arms off" (thank you SnapIt) if he does. God, I'm dreading the day she starts dating.

So you were once a metaphysical obsenity then, correct? Boy, don't you just wish your parents thought the same before they conceived you? You would probably be so much happier.

No kids here, but I've heard it said that if you have a boy, you have to worry about only one boy. If you have a girl, you have to worry about every boy in town.

Yes, I have three boys also, one who is 105lbs at 9 years old. I figure he will be bigger than me when he gets 16 ( I am 6 ft 200lbs), so she should have good protection.

My daughter still lives at home and is going to college. Part of the deal is that every 3 months she gets a birth control shot. I figure if they have the goods, there is a chance for pregnancy. There will be no babies on my watch.
