Fathers day is coming!

waggy

No Lifer
So what are you getting dad this fathers day? I'm going to take my dad out for a beer (later this summer he lives 6 hours away) and my kids are making stuff for him. he has far more money then eh needs so anything he needs he goes and gets.

My kids are making me something and i have no idea. i am trying to talk my wife into a Table saw but my wife don't want to spend $500-600 heh. But i might end up with a new cell phone (just have to figure out which one).

hopefully they also take me out for dinner! i want to hit up a good BBQ joint in toward Chicago hmm.

my father had the decency to leave the country during father's day, so all i have to do is send him a nice email

im still waiting to hear back if he will grace us with his presence or not, this year i shall get him a card. and a burger and a beer. oh wait! i will drink this weekend, lol.

im anticipating getting nothing from my kids... the last few years they have been very lax in that. not just to me, to everyone except their friends. i blame it on being self absorbed teenagers.

yeah that tends to happen. Also my kids were so excited about Mothers day. they were pushing to go to the store and get her something. they were busy makeing posters, cards etc.

When it comes to Fathers day they are like meh. dad will get what i have time to do. lol.

my wife even asked them if they wanted to go to the store to look. my daughter passed and said just get whatever.

sigh fathers get screwed! lol. i better get a hug and be able to sleep in!

My dad recently converted from Wicca to Methodist, so I got him the most religious Father's Day card I could find. I will also purchase him a bottle of Jameson for his birthday next week.

lol yup, but i usually have to kick them in the butt to do that too. she does get the better stuff, since mothers day is during school and up to 6th grade they still make shit in class for it. during the summer they dont remember anything that doesnt directly affect them.

Maybe they know that fathers experience nothing but pleasure in bringing them into this world, while mothers have to endure carrying them for 9 months and then the agonizing pain of delivering them.

😀

pfft! fathers have to put up with the pregnant and psychotic wife during those 9 months!

We celebrate father?s day and my birthday at the same time so it really sucks. I don't know who's bright idea it was to consolidate holidays and birthdays, but I want to pack them a gift with a lump of my bowl movement in it.

Could there be anything worse than purposely making these damn things compete with each other? A gift certificate would be lame, money would be even worse if that's what he gives me, and god forbid if he gives me a regift while I get him that new BFG4000 blow me while shaving my face gift he always wanted.

Was that too much info waggy? =(

No more naked ceremonies in the woods? :brokenheart:

My daughter bought me a stand alone blu ray player a few weeks ago and said it was an early fathers day gift 🙂 Wifey always gives the same gift I get every year. Its old and worn out though.

The rest of em prolly wont do anything.

eh, theres nothing to buy for my dad. might offer to make him a chesecake or some ribs....maybe.

my kids are young, i think they each made me a card.

I'm really not sure what to do. Mom was easy but dad is a bit hard to figure out. My dad will be 80 this year and he is very content. He is the type of person who is happy with the little things. As long as he has something to eat, his chair, and the tv , he is one happy camper. He doesn't like going places ,family gatherings, or making a big deal out of things, he likes it quiet and laid back. I guess I am the one trying to come up with something bigger than just a card and a happy fathers day, just feel like I should do something more.

Simple, do something he'll never regret doing.
