Father's birthday present stolen from the mail!

Nocturnal

Lifer
I need some help/advice. I sent my father giftcertificates from www.giftcertificates.com. $50.00 worth of Border books gcs. Anyhow he said he got it today and it says this is your GC. Guess what? No cards were there! That's freaking bogus! I'm furious that people actually go into my mail and steal them! Like I mentioned before $ I had from my mom was stolen out of a box that my mom had sent to me. I think the postal workers seep through the mail where I live. They're very scandalous. Who should I contact about this? Thanks in advance.

Money and GCs are bad, bad, bad things to send in the mail. My parents actually had $20 stolen out of an envelope clearly marked "LEGAL DOCUMENTS".

Postal theives know no bounds. If you're going to send money, make sure it's either a money order or enclosed in a metal box

I know! This was actually sent from www.giftcertificates.com. They're envelope that they send it in is so colorful and nice that theives have to know something is in there. I have a feeling it is my local postman or someone in the local area.

I've e-mailed gc.com about this and I'm waiting a response. I just had to vent as my dad was kinda suprised to find a damaged container containing his gcs.

My father said that it looks as if someone had tore something off of the inside of the envelope.

but then u can't take and e-mail into borders and use it like a normal B&M certificiate

atleast they didnt steal your father's identity

That's what I would do.

There are only certain places online that take the online certs. I believe Borders does but my father enjoys going down there and just lounging around reading cook books etc. We go there to spend father/son time usually. Just kick back and read books while talking a little bit of chit chat.

I e-mailed T-Mobile since they are the ones who run the spiff program, and also gc.com.

I'll keep you guys updated. I hope to receive some sort of compensation and or a new gc.

Damn bro that sux..

Hope it works out for you.

EDIT: Just thought of something, I have $50 in paypal I could send you if you would send me the GC when you get compensated for it.

I hope for your sake that the GC hasn't been used yet. If it hasn't then they can just cancel it and re-issue it.

Do you live in the ghetto?

Hey bro thanks for the thought, it's ok. I know my dad understands. I will get his present to him though. I appreciate your kindness man. Anandtech rules.
