saw it in Computer Games magazine and had to give it a try (they gave it 5 outta 5 stars).

Interstingly this is a downloadable only game and for $20 its all yours. reading through forums it seems there are tons and TONS of new things in the game that enhance it ever so slightly over traditional Diablo clones.

And it is JUST that a PURE Diablo clone, except that its a (simple) 3D engine. But nearly everything else is amazingly the same.

I highly recommend checking it out and giving it a whirl.

*Warning: Yes I KNOW its made my WildTangent... yes THAT WildTangent, but I scanned the cr@p outta it and it seems there is NO spyware or malware in the thing.

On that note read FULLY before you make your decision: https://forum.wildtangent.com/viewtopic.php?t=4192

Eh, I don't think I could take the plunge unless I had at least 5-10 minutes of a demo to determine if it's worth $20.

oops sorry missed his post. Yeah you can snag a demo and test it out. They aren't THAT stupid.

Just been thumbing through the forums more and more... there are TONS of mods for it too already. Amazing community support it seems and WT actually seems to listen the to the community and patch it accordingly.

I can not believe they dropped the ball on Multiplayer support though... however there is 1 guy working on a FATE MMORPG!?!?!

Well 1 guy posting on it. For all I know he has a legion of Monkeys at terminals :)
Reading more and more on the forums... very cool you can send your pet up with your stash to sell it for you (no more mindless trips in TPs to cash in).

There are some people that are on level 210+?!?!

I don't think I can ever install anything by WT even if they've stopped bundling spyware. I don't trust them =/

Awesome game, thanks OP.. I think I am going to end up buying it Friday

I have played through the Demo so far and I am getting into it. I like the whole pets thing, fishing and turning them into different beasts. I also like the dual wielding and different skill sets.

If you liked Diablo / Diablo II at least check out the demo. It is remarkably the same gameplay wise. Graphics are more cartoonish ala WoW, but very nice.

N/P I enjoy it completely too... so sad they missed out on the Multiplayer side of it though. Bums me. But check the forums there are TONS of mods available for it... and with 65000+ dungeon levels, you cant go wrong for $20!

If there was multiplayer we'd have bought it 2 weeks ago.

this is a pretty fun game. i'm still a little leary of WT but all seems to be kosher with the demo. for 20 bucks it's a fun game i can play on tuesdays when WoW is doing maintenance.

I played the demo the other day. Utterly boring is you liked Diablo for the MP. It's SP only and it is and EXACT Diablo clone except you have a pet instead of a merc.

No multiplayer.

And CGW gave it four stars. I dont know why - IMO if youre going to clone a game without giving any real innovations, you could at least include all the features of the game youre cloning. If this game had MP I would pick it up without hesitation if for nothing else than to screw around with some friends for a few hours.

Is it just me or is there no 'combat skills'? I know there are points you can put toward doing more damage with certain weapons, or increasing dual wield skill, but I don't see anything about getting new combat skills like 'whirlwind', 'leap', etc.

I defintaely would love a co-op mode, that would be my only gripe so far.

I have bought worse $20 games thats for sure, hell I have bought worse $50 games heh.

The game executable comes with spyware, which is not installed if you unselect it. What you can't remove is a STEAM like DRM system which means you can't play the full game unless their server is available, and you are providing them with a tracked history of how often you play it. It also has the disadvantages of microsoft windows activation, in that it is hardware sensitive and comes with 3 uses, after which you need to email/call them to get more. Some reports suggest that the threshhold of 'changed hardware' is set very low, but I can't comment on that.

Some people find that sort of thing inherently offensive, some do not, but I figured I would clarify the situation, as while 'Wildtanget is spyware !!' presents an incorrect picture, it is also *technically* true.

It's also not 'an exact diablo clone' by any means, it has much less content than diablo has, having an in-game storyline and lore exactly one sentence long, being entirely lacking in any form of melee skills, cutscenes, multiplater etc. On the other hand, it does have fishing, and a pet that levels up with you, which can be polymorphed into various monsters, and the general gameplay concept is entirely the same as diablo.

I played for about 10 minutes before I got so bored I had to quit. I didn't make it out of the town.
