He'll get off with a slap on the wrist. We need room in prisons for truly dangerous people - drug users / sellers.

So I guess the question of the day is that if this person gets off with a slap on the wrist because they are under 18, would you blame the father for seeking other means of justice?

Kill him...very easy....there will be no "loss" as some random teenager has already pumped out a kid to replace him.

I have hard time believing some 24 year old white girl would try to jump/fight back two black dudes with guns in the heart of detroit ghetto.

Now, if abortion weren't such a stigmatized and politicized concept, and simply the fact of society that it should be, there's a good chance that there would be much fewer of such kids born into social and economic situations that send them down this road.

but no one wants to talk about that.... :hmm:

I say teach him a lesson and then release him.
Pull his trigger finger off with pliers so he remembers what he did. Publicly put him in the stocks for a few days, to make sure it sinks in.

Set him free afterwards. See if he learned his lesson.

Allow him the opportunity to try to turn his life around.

I'm glad to see so many people here who support the idea of the death penalty for serious crimes.

I'd like to see the use of the death penalty expanded to include habitual criminals.

Obviously, the crimes need to be of a serious nature, not just petty crime, but anyone who get the 3rd strike should just be executed because they've shown more than once that they aren't going to be rehabilitated and refuse to live within the laws of "polite society." Crimes that should qualify include; murder, assault with the intent to commit murder, burglary, armed robbery, rape, child molestation, DUI involving bodily harm to others (after the first offense) the list goes on and on and on....rebabilitate those who CAN be rehabilitated. Eliminate those who can't/won't be rehabilitated. They are a huge financial drain on society.

People have become so fucking punitive lately. 12 fuckers! He has no clue what he did. Brain is not even fully developed until 21.

Like I said, make the girl's bloodthirsty dad raise him.

Really? Physically damage him, publicly humiliate him and then expect him to learn a lesson from that? What you will end up with is a monster with no conscience roaming the streets looking for his next victim.
Since there is no death penalty there he needs to be Bubbas little bitch for the rest of his life.

You're suggesting he didn't know right from wrong. At that age, kids do know right from wrong.

When you were a kid, what was more effective, a spanking, or being told to sit in time out?

Locking somebody up for life with a bunch of angry/hateful people and no freedom is much much worse a fate then a swift (but painful) punishment. Life in prison is inhumane, and I would even say it's cruel and unusual punishment.

We should stick to much much more severe, but much shorter duration punishment. It imposes less on people's rights.
