I have been going to the gym regularly for about 3 months now and I have currently lost about 25lbs so far. Right now I weigh about 185lbs (I'm 5'10"). I have wanted to cut about 10lbs more to get rid of the rest of the fat I have left on my stomach and chest area. A friend of mine told me about fat burning supplements and how they worked for him so I am thinking about taking them to help me out. What do you guys think? What experience/ side effects have yall experienced with taking these.

Thinking about taking that BNS Atro-Phex.

The supplements I currently take are
Syntha-6
Superpump250(Just switched to it this week, was taking NO-Xplode for 2 months before)
Creatine (Just switched brands, can't remember the name)

GOOD WORK!

While I think most supplements and fatburners are worth sh1t, I would stick with what you are doing, eat clean, and rock some cardio.

I took Yellow Jackets for a few months many years ago. They're basically an ephedra caffeine supplement. They worked well and I cut down to around 8-9% body fat from around 10-11.

That said, they're a short term helper IMO. I eventually started having some nasty side effects. High BP, the shakes, upset stomach, anxiety.

I tried to take another ephedra caffeine pill a few years ago and the side effects are too much. I just hate how they make me feel.

If you don't have side effects or can deal with em, they do work as long as you're doing everything else right (clean diet, lots of cardio, resistance training).

The side effects is what is scares me from taking them. Sometimes I can be very sensitive to caffine. If I drink a Monster in the morning it will wire me up for a few hours but I don't feel normal. I will feel alert but not awake, jittery, slight headaches and would crash hard.

But on the other hand I know my body can get use to it. NO-Xplode did the same thing for me when I first started taking it. I would feel like crap heading up to the gym but once I got there and started lifting weights and burning through it I would feel alot better and I did notice the increase in energy.

Are you doing cardio? Maybe body will like cardio work a lot more than complex chemicals you want to feed it.

My friend, you've already lost 25 pounds and you're looking to use fatburners at the very end? You can do this the natural way. Track your food intake, make sure you're in a caloric deficit, and increase (or start doing) some cardio. You will lose the rest in no time, I swear.

P.S. Refer to the fat loss thread at the very top of the forums. I wrote it and it has some pretty good advice. If you're doing all of those things, you should be able to cut the last bit off without many problems.

I tried taking some once. I started getting dizzy spells and was afraid I was going to stroke out, so I threw them away. I wouldn't do them if I were you since you seem to be doing alright already.

Your right SC. No point in doing it now when I have already gone this far without it.

As for Cardio I do believe that is my weakest point. I don't do it very often. My gym partner and I pretty much do free weights when we go and exclude cardio. We mainly do this because at the time we didn't want to burn up the NO-Xplode on the run. And to be honest Me+Running=Fail. This past week though we have been putting it back in at the end of our workout and on my off days I force myself to do a light jog on my treadmill at home for about 20-30min.

I guess my reasoning for thinking about take the fatburners is to see more results faster. I dropped the first 20lbs quick, like in a month and a half. I changed my diet and had a solid workout plan. I am starting to gain weight again but I know its muscle weight and not fat weight. I just want to cut more fat! Ah well, I guess there never is an easy way of doing this. Back to the treadmills!

You know, man, you don't even need NO-Xplode... I dunno. I think the main things that are truly beneficial are a multivitamin, fish oil, creatine, and whey protein if you're not getting enough protein. I say screw the NO. Just go for it. Do some HIIT - that will get you in shape quick and boost your metabolism all day (my thread has some more info on this). I dunno man, it's your choice, but you can definitely do this and get in great cardio shape at the same time.

OP, cardio doesn't exactly have to be running either, ya know? Swimming is excellent (and actually works the most muscles, so far as I know, of any cardio). Skipping rope can be cardio, if you're working it hard enough. Shoot, you do it fast enough and long enough, and SKIPPING can be cardio! Add to that the fact that every source I've ever read says do your cardio at the end of your workout, when your heartrate is already a bit elevated, and it will be more effective at burning fat, and that's your answer, NOT otc fat burners!

Besides, consider this......every effective fat burner we've heard about in recent years has eventually been found to be not only eating your fat, but some other important body part at the same time, which eventually leads to it being taken off the market (and the ambulance chasing lawyers making a ton of money off of it). Do you really want to take the chance in taking something now that 20 years down the road you find out was also eating away your heart (or other important organ)??? I say thanks, but no thanks.....and believe me, I'd love to find some easy way to burn the fat off my body!! :)

I personally like swimming and cycling as cardio as they are a lot more friendly to my knees than running is. That said, running takes off the fat the best... why? My theory is because I carry and eat a bannana or granola bar on a two hour (35-40 mile) bike ride, and I am always ravenous after swimming (perhaps due to my temperature being lowered?).

If you go at it hard enough, racquetball, tennis, basketball are great substitutes for boring old jogging, unfortunately you're also more likely to get injured...

I also see no reason for the supplements.

Eh, jogging is what you make of it. Just run in aerobic zone, and after like 40 min you will get runners high.
