You can hear the cops say drop the gun so it's most likely he had a gun and if true, any cop will shoot you for that.

i'm surprised this took so long to make it here. saw it earlier this afternoon on facebook. the guy recording the video is really painful to listen to. the ignorance of him calling the other black cop a sellout is fucking ridiculous.

but yeah, i wonder if the homeless guy got his hands on a gun or something. you can definitely hear that. and i find the gunshot burst kind of odd. like you hear 1 shot, then a pause, then the 4 other shots in quick succession. i was wondering if it's from 2 different guns.

think the black cop was saying "lost my gun" repeatedly and then the white cop shoots the suspect

anyways, suspect was fighting the police and it sounded like they were trying to tase him

video quality wasn't good enough to clearly see if suspect actually got a hold of a gun but suspect initiated a physical altercation with police and continued to resist while on the ground

so to summarize, I think this shooting is more justified than the crazy that got shot throwing rocks at police

See here for one in louisiana where a drunk homeless man was killed. This happened back in December but the video was just released.

It's coming right for us!

For cops the secret word is "gun". Doesn't even really have to be a complete sentence, as long as it contains the word gun, they can blast away.

Sure there are some good cops, but they really have no sway against the gang of bad ones. And yes it is a gang, they lie, cheat, steal, and cover up for each other. Very hard to fight against them (as several of my friends/family have found) even with overwhelming evidence (like clear video). Usual worst case, they get fired...then go work for private security.

My last experience with cops was actually pretty decent...3 good ones and 1 single asswad.

Hi. Welcome to another news thread bout a mentally ill person resisting arrest, eventually resulting in a shooting by police.

But we don't want to talk about that, again, do we? No...

Just FYI, from what I know about reading on taser guns, if you hear that loud clicking sound that means it doesn't have a good connection..ie the sound is evidence it is NOT working.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Robert_Dziekański_Taser_incident

"The second thing I would like to comment on is the noise from the taser. When you hear that loud crackleing noise it means that the taser has not conected properly to the individual... making it less effective. I causes pain rather than incapacity because the energy from the weapon is not able to penetrate deeply enough into the subjects body... this is covered in taser use training. This sort of conection often leads to the necessity of applying the taser multiple times because it fails to incapacitate completely."

Hi. Welcome to another thread where mizzou proves he is an ignorant moron and posts drivel that doesn't pertain to the subject at hand.

it's like deja vu

Some people get it., ""The system is really failing the mentally ill, as well as the cops who have to contact them," he told CNN's Ann O'Neill through Facebook. "I'm seeing so many more new faces in Skid Row. And many of them have serious issues. It's really tough out there.""

Front CNN article.

If we can maybe give a #%@! about these people, we won't have to have these unfortunate situations so often.

Anyway, I won't comment on the actual policing because I already said I wouldn't do that anymore lol.

I live in libural coastal CA and it surprises me a bit sometimes the people who have a strong dislike, if not outright hatred for police. It's not just from the minorities in the urban ghettoes that have to deal with policing on a routine basis.

I don't know if this was a "good" shoot but mizzou is right that the vic was in a mental institution for 10 (!) years and was released just last year.

So the police get to execute him? OK

Its not about hating the police. Its about hating people who wish to take others' freedom and lives simply because they have a badge and a gun. Its about trying to open people's eyes so they don't just say "well its only a few bad apples".

rudeguy, it's pretty offensive the words you're trying to put into my mouth. I don't know what stance mizzou has taken in previous threads, so I'm not necessarily agreeing with him.

Whether you like it or not, mizzou and LTC8K6 do make a relevant point at least to this particular victim. I don't think either of them is saying it was a good shoot either.

I didn't watch this video but I did see the one from Pasco, WA and that was very disturbing. Regardless of the outcomes of judicial process, most of the publicized shootings in the past year are very difficult to understand.

Yet you are already blaming the victim?

Why comment on a video you didn't bother to watch?

You jump to redonkulous conclusions, rude guy. :p I said I don't know if this was a justified shooting, how is that blaming the victim?

I've read some news articles about this shooting, and have no interest in seeing the video at this time.

If the cops didn't pull their guns out of their holsters for every little occasion then he wouldn't have been able to grab it off the cop to start with. It was 6 on 1 ffs there was no need to draw, if 6 cops with tazers can't secure an unarmed homeless guy then something is seriously wrong.

I took Manly's first post as acknowledging the sad fact that mentally unstable folks are dumped on the street for police to deal with. He flatly stated he didn't know if the shooting was justified or not, but I didn't hear him blaming the victim at all.

Rudeguy, you are being redonkulous.

And even if this shooting is justified, the social situation where we dump our mentally ill on the street is not.
