Fatal exception (OE)?

I started up my Athlon 750mhz, Abit KA7 mobo, 128mb RAM, windows 98 SE and just as the background screen came up a blue screen came up with the message "fatal exeption (OE) 0028:" . . . . "the current application will terminate" . . . . "press any key to continue" I hit "space bar" and then the background screen comes up again and nothing happens. No icons appear, no start bar, nothing. When I press ctrl alt del I get the "end taks" screen but there are no programs to end, even after ten minutes. I started in safe mode, went to devise manager an found a red "X" over my kingston adapter, I enabled the devise and now can go on-line, but when I restart I get the fatal exception again. What's the deal with that!?!?

Thanx for the advise,
Abe

No, really; thanx!
