Guys i need help on something.

While playing WarCraft 3, and SC/BW (the only games i ever play) i keep getting Faral Errors. I have ruled out many things like heat and CPU problems due to over 20 hours of Prime95'ing. My temos dont go higher than 47°C. I would blame it on RAM, but doesnt prime95 stress and test RAM too?

Anyhow, ive basically got it down to one of 2 things: the video card (gf4 ti4600 running the latest drivers) or a problem somewhere else, maybe the OS (winXP pro).

anyway heres the exact error i get:

***This application has encountered a critical error:

FATAL ERROR!

Programs: c:\program files\warcraft iii\war3.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:34000000

The instruction at '0x34000000' referenced memory at '0x34000000'.
The memory could not be 'read'.

Press OK to terminate the application.***

I also get the "memory could not be 'written' message too.

Now, this happens randomly. However it seems to happen more frequently when the comp has been on either all day, or for more than a day. (by more frequently i mean almost 100% of the time.)
It doesnt happen at consistent points, but it seems like i get it more when the game is switching between 2 different things (loading something, or right after it gets minimized due to an IM or something)

Another tid bit: im not sure if id say its definetly a video card problem, because running large loops of 3dmark2001 SE doesnt give me trouble.

thanks for you time.

It sounds to me like your memory is going bad. Download and run MemTest86 for a couple of hours and tell us if it has any errors. Generally, errors equal bad and you should try to RMA your memory if it's still under warranty.

And no, Prime95 does not test memory, it's a processor stability tester.
