Fat shaming

I was in a meeting today that included the head of a facilities dept at a college when he let us know he would need to leave to deal with an issue. It was a long meeting so it was still in progress when he returned. Apparently the reason he needed to leave was because the college had received several reports of a derogatory poster and sponsored fat shaming. He confessed it was going to take him some time to craft an appropriate response.

The poster was indeed put up by the college. It was a simple background of the school colors with text that said "Make the healthy choice. Take the stairs" posted next to the elevators of a 3 story building. Thats it. No pictures of people or any other text.

That's common in nearly every university I've been in recent years. That facilities manager should just reply to the antagonizers: "Oh FFS!" then let them yell at each other trying to figure out what that means.

I remember them in college too.

Screw them. The lady's here at my work can barely walk to their cars.

That's terrible, how dare some liberal ass school degrade people like that. Some overweight people are in better health than average size people.

It's probably 2 or 3 friends who bitched to each other and complained. They're probably terrible students. A school with tens of thousands of students will have a few idiots.

Next thing you know people will be saying things like...

Don't wait for a parking spot in the front looping around 20 times in an effort to get a parking spot within the first 3 spaces, park towards the back, walk in, and be done quicker!

The nerve of people! The Audacity! I went to the store the other day and they didn't even have a chariot to take me to my vehicle! I had to carry all the groceries myself!

The audacity!

I never stick around hunting for a spot so close to the store either. I'd rather park quickly and walk. It's probably faster overall anyways.

Yeah, my #1 parking criteria is ease of egress. I'd rather walk a bit than have driving away be a pain in the ass.

Is there typo shaming? There should be.

Shame on you OP

🙁 I edited poorly.

I'll take a spot further back and walk rather than wait and I can usually be inside before the people waiting end up getting to park

Go ahead.

Shame me.

I give between zero and one fucks.

Wait - between? As in you give more than 0 fucks? I think that might be an all time high for you 😉

Why should this automatically assumed to be "Fat Shaming"?

Sounds more like "Lazy Shaming" to me.

They could have branded it as "Claustrophobia Awareness" and then nobody would have called it fat shaming.

I am fat and have claustrophobia, I take the stairs.

Once I took the elevator to the top of the St Louis Archway ... that was not a fun ride. The top was pretty awesome though.

Makes me glad to have a preferred parking pass...

Fat shaming needs to be intensified on a national level. All fatties need to be taunted relentlessly. There's no excuse for it especially when it raises my healthcare costs.

those healthy at every size people are the worst.

it's a myth and they refuse to accept it.

what's worse is they took it down.

give them an inch, they'll take a mile.

My friend's cat is very obese and when people see her everyone say 'omg what a cute chubby kitty' I really do want to smack every person who cuss my friends cat cuz she is big boned 🙁
poor kitty ;_;
fat shaming is fucked up especially cat shaming. 😡

one day they'll demand their own lanes

how do people get that fat seriously? I definitely don't eat well, I'm 41, so I don't have that awesome metabolism I carried into my early 30's, and I'm within a healthy weight range. I have no more six pack abs but at worst I could have a Leonardo Dad Bod. Do they really eat such copious amounts of food? Or is their metabolism so damn slow they can eat cheerios all day and be fat?

Special snowflakes.

Love the recent Bill Maher rant. The far left has gone so far over the edge, to the point where deriding them is easy. They're killing themselves, just like the far right has made a mockery of true conservatism.
